Just saw about the 4 DVD sets on danceshopper, called The Dance Bible by Luca and Loraine Baricchi. It looks like a set of DVDs teaching you practical exercises for ballroom. Anyone has seen the DVDs before? Is the material useful? Since it costs some $250, I would like to get some feedbacks first before I plunge and buy it. Thanks.

A friend loaned me the set. I would say it isn't worth the kind of money being asked for. He covers the basics of balance, musicality and movement. It's beautifully filmed in his studio, but the use of a Japanese interpreter slows everything down a lot, because after every paragraph of his speech, she repeats it in Japanese. There are better instructional DVDs out there.

I think even an earlier Lucca and Lorraine video called "Art in Motion" is better. Much of the same information, and in a more compact package at less than half the price (you may be able to find it really cheap because it was a VHS). I've also seen a lecture video he did at a workshop in Germany that was awesome -- far superior to the Dance Bible. No idea what it was called or where to get it, unfortunately.
Anything by Geoffrey Hearn is awesome, and he has produced a new DVD set called "A Technique of Advanced Standard Ballroom Figures" which is danced by Mirko Gozzoli and Alessia Betti. I haven't seen it yet but some folks are raving about it. I've yet to see a Geoffrey Hearn production I haven't liked. Of course, this kind of product is a little different in some ways from what Lucca was trying to create, because it focuses more on the figures themselves.
Another very good DVD is "Musical Dancing" by Anne Gleave, also danced by Mirko Gozzoli and Alessia Betti.

I have one of the Art In Motion videos (QS). Would love to see the others.
Interesting about Geoffrey Hearn. Perhaps I've been looking at the wrong videos, but everything I've seen by him seems to be just "Look at how it's done by the Pros" with little to no explanation or discussion. I want in-depth analysis, not just dance demos. Heck, if I could learn how to do something solely by watching it, I wouldn't have to spend so much $$$$ on lessons

I ordered it from Australian dancesport site today. With the exchange rates what they are, it cost about $245. I didn't get an e-mail confirmation yet, which is something I am a little concerned about. I thought that would go out automatically.
