Here's a question for you. When and how do you practice dance? I mean, we're busy people, with spouses, and jobs, and kids, and houses, and all sorts of responsibilities.
So when and where do you practice? There are a couple threads out there about car dancing and dancing around the empty house. Good ideas. But do you have any other practical suggestions about how, when and where to practice during your non-dance life, maybe a minute at a time?

I was practising last weekend walking through a shopping centre. Trying to get my balanced weight to sit over the toe, instead of over the whole foot and pushing off the back foot. Such a subtle thing that you can practise anywhere. I only got a couple of strange looks!

With work during the daytime, I can only practice at nights. At home when my sister's not around, I go out to dance standard on our driveway or on the street. That's if only there are no cars and all the neighbors are inside, and I live in a fairly quiet residential area. :)

If the mood takes me anywhere anytime. At the bus stop waiting for the bus and waiting on patrons at the circ desk. Pulling items for patrons. Standing with my keyboard raised high so I can do my work and practice. While preparing meals, while watching a movie...It gets in my blood and I just have to do it, and then...there may be a week when I just cannot get myself to do anything. [shrug] C'est la vie!

One thing that at least ballroom people can work on constantly is posture. Shoulders down and back; head up; boobs up. This could work for salsa people too, I think.
Not sure how this would work for lindy hoppers, though. :?

Everyday . . . 2 hours a day . . .
And that's "bouncing boobs" up for Lindy hoppers

Yup I think posture is important in salsa as well. Actually doing pilates just two times did wonders for my posture. Ever since then I'm constantly aware of the right posture, and lapse less and less often.....
