Do we have anybody attending it ? :p

I was there Thursday and Friday (Novice and Pre-Champ Standard), and came home today. The hotel was amazing - luxurious and visually stunning - I feel like I came home from a vacation! If you are there, check out the spa - usage of the spa facilities (steam room, jacuzzi, etc.) is free for hotel guests and like everything in the hotel, the facility is gorgeous. Even though the hotel was sold out, at times it felt really empty and a little un-Vegas-like (not that that's a bad thing!), but Thursday night around 11pm it was a little difficult to find someplace in the hotel to get something to eat / drink as the main restaurants had closed and the Whiskey nightclub wasn't open. Friday night though, sitting in the outdoor area of the Whiskey nightclub was quite nice.

The comp itself felt extremely well organized - I was impressed to get mail a few weeks before the event confirming our event registrations and name spellings, and when we checked in, our tickets and number were collected together in our registration packet. The floor surface left a little to be desired though - it seemed to be a vinyl surface with taped edges around each tile. We didn't get a chance to warm up on the floor before we took the floor for our event Thursday night and were embarrassed to slip quite a bit during that first round!

The Amateur Novice/Pre-Champ events were really well attended. Novice started in a first round (27 couples I think) and Pre-Champ in a quarter-final (23 couples I think). Pre-Champ Latin also looked like it was a large field - we only watched the latter part of it.

They have food court , that is open till very late , if I am not mistaken . I was there last year , and to two of the FA National championships in that hotel , and is really very spectacular . Any pro results ?

Its weird. It shows how the internet has changed our lives. Lately I have been able to find photos, results and sometimes video the same day as the event - a lot of that due to Chris and Supershag, but Dancebeat is starting to have great info. However, even with this well attended event, its like there is a blackout of info. I talked to a few of the competitors today and I had slightly conflicting info so I won't make a report, but it seems that the venue (!) may be why. Everyone was enjoying the pool this afternoon and the bars last night.

Dancebeat was helpful, but I would like to know much more. Wish all these comps used 02cm.com, then [I] wouldn't be wondering. I don't know anything about Kasia's new partner, Vlad Pavlov. Can anyone tell me his background?

Amateur Standard was late Friday night. It was pretty quiet. As DanceBeat reports, Andrea & Erica were the obvious winners and did a lovely job. My kids did a nice job and had fun. The third place couple are new dancing together and looked great. Amy has always been my favorite local 10-dancer. Venue was good. We were out at the pool by 8am Saturday morning and stayed there for hours...so nice!
1 - Andrea Faraci & Erica Ridgeway
2 - Ira Pollock & Abby Pollock
3 - Brandon Perry & Amy Hofheins
4 - Christopher Glowinkowski & Paulina Ruszkiewicz
5 - Craig Wakefield & Krista Treu
6 - Tulga Ersal & Ilkin Ersal

How did Vlad & Kasia look? Vlad just split up last year w/ his longtime partner Svetlana Polianina (sp?) -- There was an announcement on dancesportinfo about it. They were pretty high up in the Russian rankings.

I was there Thu-Fri-Sat (and stuck in the airport most of Sunday!) - probably the largest comp that I've ever attended (so far).

I don't have my program with me right now, but I usually mark the results on the "more important" heats that I see.

Are you looking for results on Amateur or Professional?

BTW - I was the Pro/Am who did the "Linus/Blanket" and "Austin Powers" solo routines. :D

Eww! That's quite a few heats - plus I don't have them all.
But I'll see what I have (I definitely have ProAm Smooth and Rhythm).

I'll keep checking the Nevada website and maybe they will have them soon. It's really too much to post, I know. Thanks for posting what you did.

Does anybody have stats for Nevada Star Ball for number of studios, number of competitors, or number of entries? I've looked at their website, and can't seem to find such information.
