Saw many pros wear the kind of dance pants (like suit pants, but with very wide legs) during lessons. Look very nice and elegant. Where can we get them?

These were all the rage about 10 years back on the American Smooth male dancer/teacher scene. I remember having at least ten pair of these pants at a time in our household. I occasionally see a few men wearing them still. They are supposedly extremely cmfortable.

For myself I end up just buying these in bulk. They are cheap. They have pretty much been my work uniform for three years now. When they get pilled or stained I just toss them and go buy more, they are so cheap.

Those pants (for men) are still worn quite a bit in the WCS World, esp in competition . . .
Women's pants are easily found . . . men's pants can be found at venues/competition, and if you look around in those specialty shops in malls, where suits are sold - not stores like Men's Whearhouse, etc. - but those shops that have suits in wild colors, long jackets, etc.
I stopped buying them at venues and started shopping for them in the malls . . . findng them for one-fourth the cost - identical looking pants! The major differences is that the pants sold at comps are usually lined at the top and have a wider waist band, and store-bought pants do not have this!

Thanks, they are not the type of wide-leg palazzo or yoga pants...
not sure about the material of the pants I referred to--but they look like suit pants, probably made of wool? Very elegant on the floor.

Have you try to contact dancepants dot com I get all my practice and competition pant from them.
I am sure that Eric will be able to help you with the type of pants you like to have.

Capezio makes a wonderful wide-leg (pallazo) pant. It has moisture wicking properties and is very inexpensive. Very slenderizing too.

Good recommendation
Just a heads-up . . . unlike most vendors/stores/businesses, his standard practice is/was to post your name on his website when you buy from him - ok if you're dying for your new prospects to see dancepants when googling your name - although he will take it off when requested

This is pretty much my standard dancewear. Black wide-legged pants. Especially when competing swing. I have been able to pick some up at swing comps. Also, I peruse dance wear stores and other online shops. For the more tailored suit-like kind (polyester and/or wool-blend), rather than jersey knit, I have been able to find them at The Limited, Newport News and Metrostyle.

Can you tell me about the fabric on these? Heavy or light? Shiny or matte finish? I think I'd like to order a pair. I'm always on the lookout for the perfect pair...
Thanks!

How do they feel on the floor, those tailored suit-like pants from non-dance-wear stores, like Limited, Newport news etc? Do they fit well, and move freely?

I love them. I don't wear them too tight. If in doubt, I will usually go up a size and have them altered for a perfect fit. I wear them to dance parties, lessons and I also compete in them (WCS). I have two pairs from the Limited and 2 pairs from Metrostyle, all of which are for dancing. Both of these styles are loose fitting from the hip down. I do also wear them to work. The Metrostyle are more the palazzo style. The Limited ones are more just what I would consider wide leg. Affectionately known as my 'fat pants.' :p
The pants I've bought from Newport News are not as good a fit as the others, but that's just a shape thing...
Hope that helps!

I love the ShapeFX "Garbo" pants from Newport News. They are slightly wide legged, very moveable without twisting around so you have to continually "readjust" things, and are incredibly slimming. Possibly my favorite practice outfit is the ever-popular all-black ensemble, with the Garbo pants, a black top, and black practice shoes -- I saw a video of myself in this outfit, and really liked how it looked.

I love this line of clothing (ShapeFX). I have a pair of the Garbo pants and I agree, they are fabulous!

The Capezio pants are light to medium light in material weight. They are made from their DanceDry fabric line. It is designed to absorb moisture and accelerate evaporation. They cost about $40.00.

From that particular seller...no. There have been 5 different times I ordered several pants. And only twice did I get the same selller. They seem to drift in with a whole bunch, and then they are gone. But for 10 bucks each I am not really concerned.
