Why there was no US couple in any category in Stuttgart? It is a huge competition, with a lot of very best couples in all categories. It just finished Aug 18, and every year it becomes bigger and bigger. Juniors (my favorite topic!!) were from everywhere, including Israel, China, Spain, Iceland, nothing to say about very strong Ukranian, Polish and Russian junior couples...

There was one in am standard, craig and mallin. pro standard we had jonathan and german... I think people didn't go as it was impossibly expensive to go. I had a friend in Germany and we probably could have stayed there for minimal cost but the airfare was just way too much to go.. it must have been too much for all the JR couples as well.. going to Europe in the middle of the summer is not easy.

Accommodation is very inexpensive there, it's about $30 per night per person. Also it's possible to stay at a hostel for a better price. The competition itself is cheaper than in Ohio. And airfares - it's possible to get one which is cheaper than flying within US - if taken care in advance. There are so many good deals from New York usually.... The comp is definitely cheaper than any comp in UK...
Can we somehow get comments from the couples who went there?

I know all the dancers from US I ever talk to say its one of the most expensive competitions to go to .. comps in the uk are never during the peak season... so flights can be purchased under 500.. but flights now are at least 1K per person.. it doesnt matter how cheap accomodation is, flights would cost more than whole balckpool including food, housing flights and entries.

not sure , who knows maybe someone who went will comment. 2 of my friends were there but they live in germany and NL. Oh and I checked prices for flights about 6 months ago, so that's fairly in advance.

I actually don't think it would have cost a lot more than nationals and there would have been more events in which to compete. Looks like an incredible event!

nationals price was a bit ridiculous. We were planning to go for many months, just couldnt find any reasonable flight.. wish we could have gone. I must have spent at least 10 hours on the competition site looking at results or everyoen I know, checking photos and feeling jealous.. wish we just skipped nationals and did that instead :( no money for both

I'm sure the competitors will be mortified to see these pictures. How unfortunate!
