The Bandoneon (http://perso.club-internet.fr/manoury/index.html/bandoneon.html) is core to the wonderful sound of tango, but it isn't quite as common as, say, the piano or violin.

I've only met a few Bandoneon players here in Australia (at milongas, of course). Does anyone here play it or know someone who plays it? Is it difficult to learn? Why did you choose it over a more conventional instrument?

Dear Madam Samba

I have just attended a workshop with Joaquin Amenbar and it was enlightening to say the least. But lo and behold hee has been to Australia so maybe if you ask him he may go again.

Thanks, BTM...nice site! :)
I know a number of people in tango orchestras who play, but was wondering if anyone in the AT forum played and if so, why?

I'd play it, but playing the triangle as a child seems to have zapped all my musical ability!
