New Studio in Boston Area

Well, this weekend is the GRAND OPENING PARTY for my new studio, AVANTI BALLROOM. I never in a million years wanted to have my own studio, but this opportunity, it practically fell into my lap at a very opportune moment... So here it is.

Saturday September 15th at 8 pm the doors officially open for our first party.

It is a bit of a double Grand Opening. The building is newly purchased and moved into by Dance Fever, a well established local kids latin studio. But within their new building is, upstairs, and unused ballroom that they did not need, because they have plenty of space on the first floor. When it came to be that I was looking for a studio to just rent space for myself, they simply handed it over to me (along with a good friend who was also looking to just independantly rent space).

So this weekend is the SEASON OPENING for Dance Fever in their new building & the GRAND OPENING for Avanti Ballroom.

The full sun if GREAT to teach in. I just love the view and the windows are HUGE. When I am free I like to go sit out under the trees at a picnic table and relax, or walk down to the river. The location is absolutely inviting!

And yes, Isabelle is a great addition to the studio. She has her spot of carpet to sit on and only once, so far, snuck under the chairs to look around the rest of the floor (she was trained since a tiny puppy never to walk on a dance floor but instead stay on the carpet!) I actually had to drag her out on the floor to take the picture, and she cowered the whole time!

Woah, with a turnout of over 200 people, I have to say the party last night was a great success. There were people that flewin from NYC just to be there for us, as well as many of my former students from the New Haven, Hartford, and Sprigfield area. There were several shows from one pro-am couple and 3 am-am couples. It was truely standing room only. I want to thank the DFers that showed up, you honestly made my night!!! Pictures to come soon.

The studio was absolutely beautiful and it was the best dance I've been to in a very very long time!

The studio looks great. Having gone to many socials in the area, there were definitely a lot of new faces there (maybe the out-of-staters L is talking about). It was a successful turnout without a doubt, and thankfully the people I danced with had good floorcraft as it was a necessity last night ;). Nice to see all the dfer's there...some very nice performances by some of them, too!
