Hello any chance we could make an international directory of places that sell clothes suitible for social tango dancing?
i think it'd be quite cool to have a DF fashion trend...
let's see if we can start some new tango fahions (men and women...)
I am tempted to suggest we all start wearing something really really revolting and weird but with utter conviction to see if we can start off mass hysteria...
Alternatively we can just exchange links and be utterly stylish without taking the mick...
I can start off by suggesting
Miss Selfridge and Top Shop for europe and i think Top Shop is in the US now...

You know? I think that's a great idea!
You go first. :together:
Seriously though. Conspiring to create a new mainstream tango fashion trend would be a lot of fun.

Tango dresses are already kinda goth all by themselves.. its the accessories, hair and makeup that complete the look.

Has to be something that we don't have to spend a lot of money for. That means the usual lines of tango clothes are OUT. (besides, how would that be starting a trend?) And also something that wouldn't be expected at a milonga (like the Camo... we could call it Combatango)

True- I save most of my spare cash for shoes! :)
That being said- I just found a few things on sale at Wally World (sorry to those across the pond for the obscure reference to Walmart, but Miss Selfridge probably only makes sense to those of us who've been across the pond, but you get the idea) :)
I got a pair of Norma Kamali palazzo pants for $10 that are too long and I will slit the sides and add elastic in the bottoms to make babuchas/harem pants.
And I got 2 Norma Kamali wrap dresses from the summer for $5 each, that can go over the pants and others I have. SCORE!
For those here in the US- Chicago Dance Supply carries not only Darcos brand shoes (somtimes on sale!) but also several of their babuchas in the $30-40 range.

It's already been done in Modern Jive, accessorized with waist-length hair!

Capitan Jep, yes they are, and I'm a follower. It's a Seattle thing...
I'm still game for conspiring to start some sort of pretentious wacko tango fashion trend.
Pink tulle tutus? (Worn with leggings, of course.)
