New Swing Dancer in NJ!!

It's so hard to find any place where people do this divine dance in this state. I can't get up to Whippany or into the city all the time. Anyone have ideas?? I am a beginner, so I'm not quite ready for you master dance partners!! Be kind!

You mention Whippany. Does that mean you're on the New York/North Jersey side of the state? Or are you in Central Jersey (near 287) , or South Jersey (Pennsauken/Cherry Hill)? I ask because I just found links for the Philadelphia Swing dance Society, but obviously, that's closer to South Jersey.

Let me know, and I'll try to find some swing venues for you.

Okay. There's not a lot there, but try going to yehoodi.com, and click on clubs under Swing Info. (You can search by state)


Also, the Philadelphia Swing Dance Society is at www.swingdance.org Their dances are held twice a month, but both are quite a hike from NJ.

Oh my goodness. Why didn't I think of this before? I just went to dancespots.net, and found a TON of swing spots all over NJ. Do a search for a dancespot by zip code and dance type. You'll have more places than you can handle. Have fun. :wink: :D

hi lee,as the lady said,phila swing dance society-i believe she gave the link-sat the 14 theres a live band- at the commadore barry in phila, check there site for info-if you go ask for tom madle he"s a friend of mine and he will give you lots of info on swing dances he's on the board. also centraljerseydance.com hold once a month swing dances on fri nights and calif mixs once a month in princeton nj- i did a lot of there dj for 2 years there- just did one this month w/ a live band and dj in between. theres a super cool w/c dance in rockway with john lindo-and dianne nardone does dances near whippany- if your interested i'll get you there info ,i know them both and go to there dances sometimes.
