Anybody going on the Stuck On Salsa All Star Cruise this year? I still have to buy my event pass, but I'll be there.

Also, has anybody been in the past? I've never been on a cruise period, let alone the salsa cruise. What's it like? What should I be expecting? Should I approach this the same way that I would a congress?

I'm pretty sure vin went last year. Maybe he can give a review?

Have fun!

I went the first year they had it(2005). It has changed alot since then so I will hold off on the reviews. Only thing I will say is I never had such great nights of dancing. That first year at least it was the highest concentration of great dancers of I had ever seen.

Myron, lots of ATL ppl went last year, including myself, Maria, Hilla, Tiffany, Lucy, Ed, Nicole, and Johnny. Talk to any of us in person for reviews. Several DF posters went, as well. In a nutshell--I had a blast and am going again this year. However, I and other DF cruise-goers wrote more detailed reviews here.

I'm not going this year but I had a GREAT time last year. (I'm actually headed to India for two weeks and couldn't afford both trips. Plus, the length of the cruise was also a factor.) In fact, the social dancing since has been a let down. I've never danced so hard and so long in my life. There were some organizational issues which hopefully they've addressed (see the thread mayanempire posted) but overall a great time. Have fun!

How are these types of trips for beginners? I started Salsa in May, so I am still beginner, but able to dance a little beyond begginer level. I am going to start looking to take a trip/vaca soon.

Ideas or suggestions on where to look would be useful.
