just read this on Dancebeat online.
"Wilkins/Demidova no longer dancing together and will announce their plans in Dance Beat next week."

I am going to pre-empt this thread by reminding everyone that we request all posts be non-judgemental and non-personal, additionally speculation into the private lives and choices being made by the dancers in question will be removed and infraction points issued. Play nice.
I thought we already had been playing nice. There was a thread about this on another site that got a bit nasty several days ago. And, yet we did not even mention it here as it was unverified. We followed the no gossip policy. + 1 for us : )

Thanks G, you're right.

Yes, our policy is to wait until there is an official announcement. Out of respect for this most amazing and delightful couple, we should try to do our part help them make this transition as easy as possible. At this point we should give them time to make their announcements (most likely through DanceBeat).
I am glad I got to see them compete at Manhattan Dancesport. They were fabulous! I wish them both well.

It's sad, VERY sad, but I could see it happening for quite some time. I look forward to finding out their plans for the future and wish them both every success.

This is definitely getting interesting.
I could see England wanting to get their hands on Jonathan.
Just to qualify where we are at right now, I don't think any of this is "verified" at this point, and it may be possible that even though people have been told one thing, that this is not even solidified with Jonathan and Katusha yet. They may still be weighing their options.

seems pretty solidified. In dancesportinfo a new couple profile has been created for Katusha and Arunas
Jonathan and Katusha's profile states that they split.

Agreed Kitty, those pieces of the puzzle certainly seem to be clear and public knowledge at the moment.

Very exciting news! I must say I am much more excited by the prospect of Katusha and Arunas (those in the know, is it possible they will be dancing at Ohio?), a partnership with much more growth potential than I see in Jonathan and Hazel, whom I don't see as being a very exciting match... But, I suppose time will tell!
Cool news item to wake up to;)

Well the one good thing that has come out of this bad news thread is that I learned that Google will translate articles from other languages to english. Very cool!
(just kidding about the "bad news thread", though some of it is....)

wouldn't they be dancing at the WDC standard championships in england instead?
and does anybody know if this a long-term thing, or just until edita gets back from "maternity leave" ;)?

You're a better/smarter person than I! My work kills brain cells daily, to the point of where I am just happy to be able to speak/read my own language (sometimes I cant even do THAT....the words will BE there, but I cant get them to come out)!! ha ha! ;)

One thing I know is that the US representatives for the WDC Standard are Victor and Anna and Erminio and Liene. Erminio told his pro am students he would not be in Ohio becaue he is representig the US at the Worlds.

No, why would they? They are not qualified to dance there so most likely only Victor and Anna will dance there that weekend (sucks for me because I'd love to see V&A dance live at Ohio:().

Although I prefer Babel Fish, which IMO does a better job: http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr
But Google will keep translating links you click on as well.

Get the address or whatever you call it(starts with http://) (http://%29) for an article in another language, then go to google.com and click on language and put in the address of the article. Click on what language you are translating to and from and it take a second but then it pops up and you can read it. Of course a couple of the words dont make sense here and there, but it totally works. Very cool!
