I never wear make-up except for comps. So I do not know much about make-up stuff. But whenever I remove my comp make-up, my face feel so dry for a couple of days. I think I am not using right stuff to remove my make-up. Please tell me what you guys use and how to use them.

what are you currently using?

I use Johnson & Johnson face wash with warm water, Estee Lauder Eye make up remover for what remains there, another once over with the face wash and then moisturiser, and then about 30 min later some more moisturiser - I find that the combination of long comp day, all that make up and getting it off leaves my face a bit drier than normal.

Perhaps you need to use a bit extra moisturiser?

I use either MAC wipes or this stuff called "Going, Going, Gone" by Ultima (around $10). I would say if you have sensitive skin, as I do, the second one is a bit milder.

Ponds - good old fashioned like grandma used to use cold cream even does a good job with the eyelash glue.

Agreed! Works like a charm on my eye makeup.

I use Lancome Bifacil (I think that's how it's spelled) eye-makeup remover for the eye stuff, and then wash with my regular face wash (whatever the Lancome stuff is for dry skin that comes in the pink tube).

I use Johnson & Johnson Clean and Clear oil free foaming facial cleanser. Sometimes I also use Dove Cleansing Clothes.

For removing eye makeup, I like Neutrogena's oil free eye makeup remover and Lancome's Bifacial eye makeup remover.

I use L'Oreal Revitalift moisturizers. I also like ROC retinol correction eye cream.

Don't know about comp makeup specifically, but I'll put in another vote for Pond's cold cream. That stuff will take off anything, it's extremely gentle, and it's fabulous as a moisturizer. It might take a couple of applications, but it should do the trick.

Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser. Actors use it to remove stage make-up. You can usually find it at the drugstore (a white and blue tub hidden somewhere on the top or bottom shelf). Added benefit: it's only about $13 for a huge tub that lasts me for months of everyday use.

DHC deep cleansing oil.
It's basically olive oil. gently apply on dry face with dry hands. It dissolves makeup like magic.

I've used Nivea's makeup remover (lotion like). Cleansing effect is not outstanding, but it's very gentle on the skin and eyes.

There must be 20 different answers here...and one duplicate! The poor OP now has more choices than she knows what to do with!

Acetone.

I thought that was one of the ingredients in a good nail polish remover.

That's hardly surprising. A trip down the facial care aisle at the local Wal-Mart or CVS shows a myriad of choices. Also, most makeup brands, either drug store or department store, have cleaning products in their lines. Then, there's what's available by prescription only. Choice is a matter of personal preference and, hopefully, skin care needs.

Ill give another vote for old fashioned cold cream. That's what I used back when I was in theater.

Natalka just posted some nice pics from USDSC on her website, and thought this one might be a good sampling of eye make-up. Really nice shot, Natalka!
