I'm putting together a playlist for a party with a comedy movie theme. Does anyone have suggestions for songs that either A) come from comedies or B) are funny in and of themselves. What I have so far:

Cha Cha - Ghostbuster's Theme - Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
Foxtrot - So Long and Thanks For All the Fish - Neil Hammon - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Foxtrot - Banana Phone - Raffi
Foxtrot - If I Had $1,000,000 - Barenaked Ladies
Foxtrot - The Pink Panther Theme - The Pink Panther
Foxtrot - Always Look on the Bright Side of Life - The Life of Brian
Hustle - Shake Your Groove Thing - Pricilla, Queen of the Desert
Mambo - Bop to the Top - High School Musical
Polka - Polka Power! - Weird Al Yankovic
Rumba - Margaritzville - Jimmy Buffett
Rumba - I Can Hear the Bells - Nikki Blonsky - Hairspray
Rumba - Can't Fight the Moonlight - Tony Evans Orchestra - Coyote Ugly
Samba - The Tiki Tiki Room - Hillary Duff
Samba - Under the Sea - Klaus Hallen - The Little Mermaid
Swing - Friend Like Me - Robin Williams - Aladdin
Swing - Hot Patootie - Klaus Hallen - Rocky Horror Picture Show
Tango - Cell Block Tango - Chicago
Tango - I Get Ideas - Tony Martin
Tango - Masochism Tango - Tom Leher
Viennese - Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee - Stockard Channing - Grease
Viennese - Agony - Into the Woods
Waltz - It is You (I Have Loved) - Dana Glover - Shrek
Waltz - Rainbow Connection - Kermit the Frog - The Muppet Movie
West Coast - Magic Dance - David Bowie - Labyrinth
West Coast - Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon

I'm specifically looking for more recommendations for waltz, swing, merengue, and hustle, and specifically from movies that aren't Broadway musicals.

Thanks everyone!

Quickstep -- Hardware Store -- Wierd Al (would need a slight tempo correction)
Amer Rumba -- This is where it ends -- BNL (depends how "funny" you need)
Tango -- Please Mr Brown -- ??
Foxtrot -- Walking 'Round in Women's Underwear -- ?? (parody of Walking in a Winter Wonderland)
Foxtrot -- Cows -- ??
Jive -- Everybody Needs Somebody -- Blues Brothers
Paso Doble -- Belle -- Klaus Hallen's version from Beauty & the Beast (rather hideous though)

haha, good one.

I know there's an inspector gadget song that's a tango. I just don't know the lyrics or title. =/

Heh, no kidding.

I'm an iPod geek and I actually have a playlist for several common ballroom dances. I'm kind of a ballroom newbie, however, so if my suggestions don't quite work, forgive me (especially my rumba and tango choices).

I haven't tried it.... but I think you could make
"The Day the Squirrel Went Berserk" by Ray Stevens work as either a swing/jive/QS/lindy....

Look up Richard Cheese. He does lounge versions of pop songs, and some of them are freakin' hilarious.

Oh, if you're willing to consider recordings that aren't on national labels, also look up regional comedian Heywood Banks (his site could be considered commercial, so I won't link to it, but it's easy to Google). He's kind of a modern-day Tom Leher only a little less edgy. Here are some of his danceable numbers:

East Coast Swing - The King Forgets - impersonation of how Elvis might have sounded if he forgot the words during a performance.

Foxtrot - Hickey, Hockey, Holey - Just a bunch of words strung together.

Waltz - Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Too - This one is better heard than described.

Foxtrot - Me 'n Annie - Mocking the bad grammar of young people.

Nightclub Two-Step - Don't Wipe it on Me, Marie - Another one better heard than described.
