If you're ever in Orlando, give Mickey Mouse the slip one day and come visit me!

Actually, dance forums is international. It's based in the US, and there are a lot of US people, but we also have people from Portugal, Belarus, the UK, Canada, Israel, Denmark, and lots of other places that I'd have to look up. We're learning a lot from each other, and it's really nice to have you with us. :D

Allright! You'll feel very welcome admist the many Salsa freaks here...and I'm very glad to include myself amongst them.

I drove the Highway No.1 from San Francisco down to San Diego... some members of my family live in New York..

That's quite a drive...I've yet to do that myself! Try Hwy 1 the other direction next you visit...its a slow but beautiful drive up into No. California...redwoods, fresh air but LOTS of curvy roads. :)

Now the real question is, did you stop to hit the Salsa clubs along the way?

Meeting and dancing sounds good, I'll need more practice in salsa first though... which hopefully I'll get between now and then.

Ha, ha, Jenn! That's so sweet and quite amusing at the same time...I wish it were me, but it's a pilfered picture, unfortunately...but one day, dammit.

Yeah, can't forget us Aussies, the Australian contingent is growing strong, one day we'll take over the world and everybody'll say "G'day" and know what "as noisy as a dunny door in a windstorm means". :)

Madam Samba - I think the Aussie take over will fail since the rest of the world will refuse to eat Vegemite! As from my friend from Melbourne says "its an acquired taste mate, you'll get used to it!"

Yeah right!

Speaking of Fosters...every person from down under that I have ever asked about it has been quite adamant in telling me that no true Aussie would ever drink it. As I recall one guy saying: "You'd have to shoot me to get me to drink that watery dingo dogs p**s mate!" :P

Now Foster's Freeze on the other hand...that's good stuff. ;)

Vince A

Are all the "ferners" drinking Fosters down there or what? Someone has to be drinking it.

It's the number one beer sold in Australia. I know that Wolf Blass is the number wine bottled wine, and with such a name as that . . . it sounds as though it could have some similar tastes to the "watery dingo dog stuff."

dancin_feet
02-18-2004, 06:47 PM
I must admit I don't drink Fosters, but if I'm stuck with no other option well "any port in a storm" right?

Would rather stick to Carlton's myself. Funnily enough being a Queenslander, I won't touch XXXX (would rather drink Fosters!).

MadamSamba
02-20-2004, 09:39 PM
Oh, Boriken and Vince...that's so funny, but you're right, I don't know too many people who drink Fosters, but then I'm not a big beer drinker, so they could be drinking it for all I know.

As for ScorpionGuy...well, that's the whole aim of taking over the world, to make everyone live (and eat) like you do, dammit. You obviously didn't do Megalomania 101 or Dictatorship 101...we'd simply forcefeed the world Vegemite until they can stomach it. Besides, it tastes fabulous.

I have it on toast as a snack or for breakfast many times a week! It's particularly good with cheese! :)

lol

I have no idea what this thread is about, but I have to say that vegemite (or marmite, the UK equivalent) tastes absolutely hideious to me. It must be a cultivated taste, 'cause it sure ain't natural. :kissme:

Ha ha ha! Well, after my friend from down under sent me some, I will admit that I got used to the taste...but it is quite a shock the first time you eat it!

If you really want to convert us, you'll have get us to recite the phrase below! Hee hee!

The Vegemite Song

(insert thick Aussie child's accent)

We're happy little vegemites,
All bright as bright can be,
We all enjoy our Vegemite for breakfast lunch and tea,
Our mummies were growing stronger every week,
Because we love our Vegemite!
We all adore our Vegemite!
It puts a rose on every cheek!
We're growing stronger every week!

Better yet, download and listen yourself!

I actually have it memorized...as I recall my friend from Australia sang it to me once over the phone. :P
