Now I almost always wear black pants for dancing. I bought a pair of red pants several years ago and only wore them once or twice. I also own a pair of bright blue pants I got for Lindy Hop, and only wore those once.
Is there life beyond black?

I have three different colors of dance pants - standard black, light black, and dark black . . . all swing pants, which are tight in the hip and butt area, with extremely wide legs that are about two inches longer than everyday dress slacks - because I usually dance with 1 1/2 inch men's latin shoes.

I'm with Vince, except I've only got 2 that I regularly dance in...

Black pants. Different shades, I guess, but predominantly black pants. I've also got a very dark blue suit, so I guess that would count as well.
I've also got a pair of patchwork pants that i bought at a cajun dance festival, but I haven't worn them out socially in a long while. Just doesn't look right for a dance professional, somehow. (Besides which, I've ripped the crotch out several times.)

Black is standard. At the latin dances quite a few people come in blue jeans. Black is safe. You can wear almost anything you want if you have the ability to carry it off.
Now and then I'll wear something outrageous, if I feel in the mood. :)

Black pants, beige pants, and dark navy jeans. Wear the navy pinstripes every now and then

I'm in search of a sweet pair of brown shoes i can dance in, 'till then I wear black and gray.
I have about 15 to 20 pair of slacks I dance in. Different shades of black about 5, 4 shades of gray and the rest are different earth tones.
I am one of a hand-full of male salseros in NY City who dresses up no matter what venue I go to. I hate the jean, sweat pants, t-shirt look when I'm going out dancing. Be presentable dude... Have some class, the mambo scene is horrible when it comes to looking presentable. The idea of presentable for the ladies is a tight shirt and low cut jeans. The guys, baggy sweats and a T shirt. I'm old school when it comes to dressing up. So what if you sweat like a pig, I don't see Cuban Pete complaining about wearing a suit and dancing all night, night in and night out... Pace yourself and learn to dance at the tempo of the song, maybe then you'll sweat less. God, this issue has me so frustrated.
If you are uncomfortable with what you are wearing, maybe its trying to tell your clueless self that what you have on isn’t meant for dancing!!! Or simply you’ve never worn a suit before and find a little clothing too uncomfortable. AHHHHHHHHH I was born in the wrong decade.

beige carpenter pants are my staple.
I actually need to go shopping for some snazzier stuff for the times I go to a strictly latin/ballroom/WCS event though. I always feel a little under dressed.
For the Lindy crowd basically anything goes, which is nice. Means I can be super comfy.

I typically wear black slacks and very rarely a nice pair of blue jeans...always with a matching dress shirt. I also have a biege pair of pants...but I've found that I really prefer to be dressed in darker colors...wearing biege isn't really my thing.
Boriken - You weren't kidding when you said all of your money goes towards Salsa outfits!
I don't have a lot of variety in my clothes selection as I don't have the extra $$$ right now, but I plan to change that very soon...I'm getting tired of wearing the same outfits all the time.
Another factor is that I've lost a couple inches off my waist from so much Salsa dancing...which is a great incentive to go out and buy some new clothes next month.

oh you mean trousers!
sorry In Britain pants means underwear as in VPL or its abscence
(Visible panty line) very important to women apparently esp if wearing tight leg-encompassing-articles-of-clothing=pants/trousers.
My answer is: a)none of your business
or b) black moleskin type or black cotton trousers
c) when I get around to it I'm going to buy myself a nice pair of flamenco breeches

Mostly gray, sometimes black, occasionally white for a suitable sort of event (V-day, say). If I knew where to find red or blue pants I might wear them occasionally...
