Well I recieved the video for our wedding dance, it was a ballroom Tango. It turned out pretty good and I'm happy with the dance. The only thing I noticed was that we did the dance from an absolute cold start. i.e. no warm up, it would have been nice but oh well.

This file is a bit of a monster (26 meg) so if you have the time, download it. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks. This is what 50 hours of private lessons and practicing 1 to 2 hours a week produced.

Now I need a new dance goal.

That's awesome! :notworth:

Congatulations. I wish I had taped the tango I did at my wedding.

Thanks! I find Tango to be a great dance for performances. The best part is that not only did I enjoy it all of the guests loved it. Most of them have not seen a ballroom tango before.

Also, I should clarify that I started dancing only 10 months before the wedding.

Its beautiful - and that's saying something as a dedicated AT dancer - and moving.

Tango, that was absolutely beautiful!

Thanks so much for sharing that with us...you've definitely inspired me. My first wedding dance is going to be an AT too!!

Hmm...now I just have to get m'self an 'usband! :)

Are the two of you still dancing? What reaction did you get from your guests? Did any of them take up dancing as a result?

Thanks!

We are still dancing but now we don't have a goal so we're trying to figure out what to do next. It seems we work better and enjoy dancing more when we can focus on a goal.

The reaction was amazing, we're probably never going to hear a cheer that loud, directed at us, again. We danced most of the night (Cha Cha, Swing, Waltz, etc) and people really enjoyed watching it.

I think a lot of our friends and family are going to check out dancing, they said it looked like fun (as we all know it is here) and even a lot of the guys who don't dance (freestyle) said that this is the type of dance they could do.

Good luck on the husband search :)

I finally had a chance to look at the clip tango... that was great! What a wonderful way to start your life as husband and wife too! :D

Kudos on the dance and the marriage... may both continue to be ever renewing sources of joy and hapiness.

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice. It's great that you guys were able to do all that work to prepare for the number, yet you still wanted to marry each other. ;)

Thanks SD and Neil.

Putting the number together was a lot of work, but early on we put the '5 minute' rule into effect. Basically, when we started to practice neither of us could speak or make suggestions for 5 minutes. Once we were warmed up and relaxed then we could start making suggestions. Made a very big difference in keeping sane.

Actaully, I think the dance was a great way to releive all the stress of the day. We even had a dance lesson the day before the wedding. It was a good way to relax, as most of you will agree.
