Any tap dancers out there??? I've done tap at a few different times in my life... and it seems like I've learned at least 2 totally different single time steps. I'm wondering if there are different variations on just a single time step- or if maybe people start them at different points in the sequence or just call them the same thing? The first one I learned was stamp-hop-step-fl-ap-step... and more recently I learned shuffle-hop-step-fl-ap-step. Anyway if there are any tap dancers out there who could shed a little light on the whole time step thing, that would be awesome! Thanks :-)

Don't know how much help it will be, but there are several versions of the single time step, as there are of the other basic steps (double; triple). The one I learned years ago, is "stomp, hop, fl-ap, step, step".

Higher leveled steps seem to eb more consistent.

Yes, my tap teacher said there's the Stomp Time Step, and the regular time step (shuffle hop step fa-lap step). they both have single, double and triple.

I was taught the "regular" time step, but it seems to me more people do the stomp time step.
