Mon & Tue - Rest
Wed - 2hrs salsa at on of the social sessions then 3hrs Salsa/R&B at a club
Thurs - 2-3hrs salsa at a club
Fri - 4hrs salsa at a club
Sat - 3-4hrs salsa at a club, or rest, depends on mood/special events

This, of course, includes all the sit-dwon-while-all-the-guys-are-taken times  ........some nights are better than others, depends on who's there. In my ideal world, this sit-down time would not be more then 30-40mins per night 8) !
Now I have to work on doing something on Mon & Tue nights.......

Usually between 200 and 300 heats. I think dancers have an on off switch on their butt. Every time they sit down they turn themselves off. MORAL: Never sit down when there is music playing :

Four hours of social dancing yesterday, not nearly enough. Plus the number of dancers was really uneven; I'm guessing about 15 leads and 40 follows, so I didn't get many dances in. Of course since I really wanted to dance I got braver than I normally am and asked a few of the instructors to dance.
No chance to dance this coming week; hopefully it'll be better in a few weeks!

Okay and this is coming back from a near-fatal car wreck on the 9th (fell asleep at the wheel doing 70 on cruise control; nobody died thank god):
Monday 1 hour Carolina Shag class
Tuesday 1/2 of Turns and Arms class (don't care for the substitute teacher)
Wednesday 3 classes: 1 hour Lindy/Charleston, 1 hour Bal-Swing, 1 hour Blues. Went home instead of social dancing as my whiplashed neck was hurting
Thursday 2 classes: 1/2 hour HipHop (late for class), 1 hour Chicago Steppin'; 1+ hour social dancing
Friday Sacramento Lindy Ball...nearly three hours (this is after my chiropractor advised one hour max each Friday/Saturday)
Saturday 4 classes in a five-class Andrew Sutton workshop: Lead/follow connection, East Coast Swing, Charleston, Lindy Hop (left after first ten minutes of aerials class as my neck was warning me not to go further)
Sunday tomorrow social dancing 2.5 hours planned

Wow, what's going on? You too? I'm so glad to hear that you are OK though!
Actually, I just found out that my half sister was hit by a car down in Australia this past week as well (clearly not a good week for my family and automobiles! :?)... she was running across the street to catch a bus and out of habit, andonly having been down under for a month now, looked for trafic in the direction she would have here in the U.S. ...fortunately she is fine save a broken metatarsal bone in one foot. Certainly painful but far, far better than it could have been thank G-d!

Yeah, I'm OK... totalled my car in a three car pile up on a freeway merge back on Monday. I'm still sore, but that's about it. Silly Dr. didn't even believe in chiropractic adjustments... that's when I knew not to put too much faith in what she said. There've been any number of times I would barely have been able to walk if it weren't for my chiropractor!

Thanks tasche... Overdoing it at the salsa club Saturday night, 2 hours of ballroom practice on Sunday, and 12 hours on campus yesterday (too much sitting! :() called for a muscle relaxant when I got how last night, but I've been fairly medication free. In my opinion...not enough...
Typically...it goes like this...
Monday--sometimes none, but occasionally 1 hour private lessons
Tuesday--sometimes none, sometimes 1 hour group lessons (swing)
Wednesday--none (but I sure dance up a storm in my kitchen)
Thursday--2 hours group dance party (ballroom/latin/swing)
Friday--4 hours social dancing (swing and intermediate swing lessons)
Saturday--4+ hours social dancing (latin/salsa)
Sunday--none

To echo several other posters, "not enough".
I generally don't consider time spent teaching as "dancing", as I usually only end up dancing for maybe 10-15 minutes per hour. However, in a usual week:
Monday: 2-3 hours of class, lately an extra 1-2 hours with a partner
Tuesday: 4-5 hours of class, lately an extra hour with a partner
Wednesday: review tapes 30min - 1 hr
Thursday: 3 hours of class
Alternating Fridays: 1.5 hour of class, 2.5 hours of dance (while DJ ing)
Ocassional Saturdays: 2-4 hours
Sundays: generally nothing, sometimes review tapes/practice

Sorry to hear about your ankle Doug. How did you break it? How long will it be before you can start dancing again?
Thanks for the expression of concern.
Falling off a ladder. My wife and dance partner has decided that in the future, if it requires more than a step stool, I won't go there.
As to when I can resume, I had surgery to pin it all back together 2 weeks ago. The doctor said that the surgery went will and all will (eventually) be OK. I get more x-rays next tuesday at which time I am hope that my doctor will make some prognosis as to when I can be up on my feet again.
Meanwhile, here I am.

I guess you did, seeing as you referred to her as your dance partner. Which dance did you decide on in the end?

This week...none. I'm taking a break from dancing. In the past month, I've been one time.
But...I DO get to go see a competition this weekend in New Orleans. Going to the Boubon Street Ball

I'll get to dress up (my favorite), dance, and see the Vargas (I've seen them before).

Yup, that's definitly going to add up to taking monday after next off !

Being without a partner at the moment, my dance schedule has really slowed down, and I'm pretty bummed out about it.
When I have a partner I'm able to do more privates and practice. Right now I'm typically doing:
Sunday: 1.5hour group class
Monday: 45-minute workout in the morning (I climb Vancouver's Grouse Grind, which is a great dancer's workout -- 3,000 feet straight up involving about 10,000 "steps"), 1 hour group class, half hour practice
Tuesday: 2 hour hard dance-oriented workout in the morning with my personal trainer, 1 hour dance practice, 1 hour private lesson, half hour practice, 1 hour group lesson, 2 hours social dancing (the whole day is pretty much all dancing related)
Wednesday: 1 hour hard workout in the morning, 1 hour group lesson, 2-3 hours social dancing
Thursday: rest
Friday: Grouse Grind in the morning, 1.5 hour group class, 3 hours social dancing
Saturday: 2 hour hard bike ride in the morning, 1 hour practice

I have a profile on dancepartner.com, and another on ballroomdancers.com partner search site. A couple of responses so far, but they didn't lead to anything workable yet. I've got posters up in the studios and the word out. My instructors say to keep up the group classes so I'm seen. Something is bound to come along eventually.
