1. new shoes
2. getting a solo/duet
3. standing ovations
4. having perfect splits
5. being picked to demonstrate
6. being the one who’s lifted
7. the hard work
8. the aches, the pains
9. a good teacher
10. winning
11. finally getting that ever allusive step
12. recital pictures/ videos
13. competitions
14. primping
15. having stronger legs then most the people you know
16. going up on pointe
17. having grace
18. being in complete control of your body
19. knowing you’ve done good
20. being able to teach others
anybody else have others?

How about dance clothes (including ball gowns)? Because you have awesome looking stuff to add to your closet and gives you a perfect excuse to go shop for more. :wink:

1. new shoes
Old shoes that are broken in just right. :D
Once in a while, when I dance Salsa, I can feel the rhythm of the music surge from my body, through my partner, and then down into the floor under her feet. It doesn't happen often, but I cherish it when it does. And then the shoes, dress, water, etc don't matter at all. Nothing else matters but the two of us and the music.
