So here's the deal. I'm planning to start a dance related business before the end of this year, so I've decided to build myself a dance network. While working on that missionn, you know what I found out? There are several huge dance networks out there locally -- the dance teachers are in one, the salseros are in another, the dance service providers are in another, and so on. Just curious. What are your experiences with tapping into your local dance network? Acceptance? Cliques? Secret info? Other? I have my own experiences, of course, but I'll share later in the thread.

As a dancer if you are into a network you suddenly find out more then just the average Joe. Locally you just know about events that are happening, get a chance to help plan them and get in at reduced rates, a chance for greater exposure, easier to get people to dance with you, get to start going to private parties...On a broader scale you also know more then the average dancer. For instance, df has a pretty good spectrum of members. By belonging here I know a lot about dancing worldwide that I wouldn't have known otherwise.
