The next time someone says they can't dance I think I'll just smile and nod.

I had to watch this for a dance class last semester. It makes you think..would you still dance if you lost a limb?

Maybe here's your answer: George Velasquez dances a bolero:

Be sure you watch it at least through the first minute.

I saw a dance instructor I know ask a lady to dance. I knew she had an artifical arm and leg but it was not abvious to other viewers. His choice of choreography did not make her handicap obvious - and she definitely enjoyed the dance - how many men could lead like that.

I've heard it said that a good male dancer (leader) makes his lady look good - well in my opinion just one more reason to hold this instructor in awe.

Wanted to share a thought . . . .
The memory still evokes a lot of emotion. We are faced every day with examples of "man's inhumanity to man" - yet in a dance we see demonstrated man's huge capacity for consideration for others.

Not me, unfortunately. I'll have to admit I wouldn't have a clue as to how to go about that. Maybe someday I'll be that good.

What dance did they do?

this has been a primary reason why I think everyone should learn partner dancing...it changed me profoundly in that way
