I know he has the new partner, Nicole Burns-Hansen, which I assume is his wife. Surely, Donnie is getting older now. Is he 50? Is he placing high at comps? Any chance he could reclaim the World title?

Yes Nicole is his wife (she is Swiss I think). Funnily enough, I saw a photo of them in a catalogue for Supradance shoes tonight. The pose they had, her left leg I think was on his chest and he was just standing there, legs apart, posed - he looks pretty good for an "ol' man"

I did a google search and surprise, surprise, could not find a bio or anything that mentioned his age  I would guess that he is mid to late 40s? The only sort of "age indicator" was that he was 14 World Latin American Champion. He was competing late 80s/early 90s. Add another 10 years and I get mid to late 40s?

In my quest to "age" Mr Burns, I did find what I thought was an interesting report on a "Dance Clinic" he did with his wife in Singapore, in 2000.

I hope it is allowed to post the link? I will put the link in the article section as well as Donnie Burns talked about:

transforming an atheletic dancesport into a sophisticated form of art. "Breathe life into this art by dancing to the messages. Do not be so engrossed with the details of the choreography and get completely off !

- stuff that I thought could apply equally to Latin American dancing as well as salsa. :D
