You have it the wrong way round-- Its a hybrid of Cuban Son and Danzon plus Mambo --- all pre dates Cha. by many yrs ( some, at least 20 ) -- performed as a " show " dance in some late thirties early forties, movie musicals-- and is the template for Intern. Rumba , .
