As some of you may know, I am currently conducting my doctoral research (in cultural anthropology) on the culture and community of ballroom and dancesport (and salsa). I am always interested in hearing from anyone interested in participating in my research and any and all such participation is, of course, strictly confidential.

In particular I have a set of prompts that can be responded to via e-mail. If you are interested in participating in and contributing to this project – by responding to the prompts or just providing your own comments – please do not hesitate to contact me at _Ynot_@yahoo.com.

Also, for those interested in finding out more about my research project, my project website is www.geocities.com/_ynot_/Home.html

SD: How close are you to completing this? I imagine this would be a big project? Are you planning on publishing your insights and results?

This sounds like a fascinating topic!

Heya DP, I'm within a year of completion and, as of the moment, have 150+ pages written. The project has been huge. I have close to 600 pages of hand written notes, have interviewed over 200 people, and continue to supplement my primary data as I can.

As related in the interviews both Dance Notes and Dance Today! have published regarding my research, I do intend to turn my dissertation into published books after completion. I've already presented a paper, a poster, and given some talks based on my research, but nothing very substantial as of yet. I hope to be publishing some articles based on my research along the way, but that's only in the most preliminary brainstorming phase at the moment.
