I've started taking some classes at the Atlanta School of Ballet and I keep running into people that I've seen at Salsa clubs or ballroom dance studios. They all say that the classes have helped them tremendously in their other dancing. I'm taking an old school jazz class right now and loving it.
Have you taken classes in jazz, tap or ballet for the perpose of improving your dancing in other areas?

Not specifically for that purpose, but I have taken jazz, ballet and tap classes throughout my dancing life. I think knowing different forms and styles of dance helps you to be more flexible in the way you move and think. Definitely a must if you want to get into choreography.

That's so cool Dance Mentor!
I can remember dancing swing with a couple of women who originally came from ballet and jazz backgrounds, and I tell you no lie, it was some of the most inspired, creative and FUN dancing I have ever experienced! (One woman even gave me this big hug afterwards). :D

I see you are in Atlanta, too. You should come join me sometime over at the Atlanta Ballet. Believe it or not, I have not met hardly any DF members in person.
