Is there an english translation of this article somewhere? I'm afraid my russian is a bit rusty...
Mine's too, but long live Bable Fish!!
BF give's this translation, not perfect, but readable:
To mayklu Of malitovski and To dzhoanne Of leunis now you do not envy...
Recently our portal became known that were formed two strongest dancing duets. The first of them - Slavik is loud and Khanna Of karttunen, the second - Andrey skufk and Helen khvorova. Slavik loud earlier stood paired with Helen khvorovoy, on the international competitions in category Professional Latin they represented Russia. In the time, that they stood in the pair (but this only more than two years - editor's notes), won such tournaments as German Open Championship 2006, Dutch Open 2006, World Masters 2007, Kremlin Cup 2006, they became prize-winners in the largest competitions - Blackpool Dance Festival 2007, The International Championship 2007. On the championship of peace among the professionals in Latine in Moscow (2007) they became silver prize-winners; the medals of the same merit they obtained also on the championship of Europe in Kiev (2007). The true reasons for their parting to us remained unknown, but it is possible to assume that they decided to achieve the even greater successes in other compositions after appearances at the tournaments of world value (World & European).
Andrey skufka (Andrej Skufca) earlier stood paired with Katarinoy Venturini (Katarina Venturini). They made the decision to part after 15- TI of summer (!) collaboration in the pair. In this time they achieved not only substantial advances in the category amateurs (champions of peace of by dvoyebor'yu 1996, 1998, the possessors of the goblet of the peace of 1996 on by dvoyebor'yu, the champions of Europe 1996 of by dvoyebor'yu, the champions of the peace of 2003 in the Latin American program, polufinalisty of the championship of peace on the standard of 2000), but also in the category the professionals (almost in all tournaments, in which they participated, they they left into the final stage, including on Blackpool Dance Festival, International and other).
Khanna Of karttunen (Hanna Karttunen) stood paired with the floor Killikom (Paul Killick). In 2003, after the championship of peace in Innsbruke (Austria), where they occupied 2 places, Khanna and floor they ended its appearances. But, as it seemed, only to the period. Only previously floor arose into the pair with Ekaterina lapayevoy, and now narrower than Khanna was formed new duet Slavikom. The latter, by the way, did not frighten the fact that Khanna of more than 5 years did not come out on the competitions. However, previously Khanna became the prize-winner of almost all competitions, in which assumed the participation. It is worthwhile to also note that after parting with the floor, Khanna together with its husband by Victor danced the staggering on the beauty show- programs and possesses exceptional physical conditions. It is not yet known at the given moment, who will represent what country on the international competitions. We sincerely hope that both these strongest duets (or at least one of them) they will dance for Russia.
DanceSport.Ru desires success to these pairs!

Yes, thank you for posting a link for a souce that validates the information. As noted NUMEROUS times before hand, unsubstantiated information is simple gossip and potentially harmful when continually spread unchecked. Statements such as "I heard it from X who heard it from Y..." are unfounded and against our guidelines, as are posts that deal with the senstive nature regarding someones privates lives.

Im really looking forward to seeing Slavik and Hanna dancing together, tho I can't imagine what they look like together... jet.
IMO they're the best dancers there are right now. But Slavik has always overdanced both Elena and Karina, He shouldn't do that with Hanna, she's to good for that. I hope Hanna can put him in his place so to speak, and make herself more radiant in her dancing than Slavik. That's what i missed in Karina and Elena, they let themselfs be overdanced by him. I'm sure Hanna is at least in the top 3 of latin ladies, but I hope she's strong and powerfull enough to still be visible next to Slavik.
Just imagine the formidable dancer Slavik to have to fight (figurely speaking) with a superb dancer and hopefully very strong and powerfull dancer like Hanna.

Today Slavik loud and Helen khvorova was present at the tournament "gold cupolas". We succeeded herself in with them meet and presenting the question relative to their plans for the future and confirming the fact of the future partnership of each of them. And was obtained very ambiguous answer... In our conversation Of slavik it said that at the given moment it has already been tried with one female partner, but neither name nor surname so named. But it confirmed information that on the forum wrote actually he, but from the computer of its friend. To it it is very pleasant that its further fate disturbs not only personally it, but also many people, by which pleases itself that, as it tanetsuyet. Slavik it wished to all of success and expressed small wish about that which would be desirable to see on the forum a little less of insults; personally it it was unpleasant to read some unjustified and now and then extremely rough statements relative to itself and its associate- dancers. the Eks- female partner Of slavika (Helen) generally forewent the commentaries, after saying what to report thus far not about which. DanceSport.ru brings its apologies to dancers!

SO here we have it... Slavik wishes forums were nicer and less gossipy. And HE DID NOT write the statement about the new partnership, but it was a "friend" who gossiped.
Can we please learn a lesson from this.
1. Just because you are "friends" with someone does not give you the right to say "He personally told me, so I am not gosssiping by spreading this across the internet..." Because until HE is ready to spread it across the internet... no one else has a right to. And such gossip affects amny people.
2. Pro dancers do see the negative things written about them, the insults, unjustified and rough statements - and find it distasteful.
3. Even a website that brings "ligitimate news reports" can be inaccurate, and we shoulf NOT take postings from these sites as proof or validation to gossip.

Larinda, not entirely correct.
here is what was in the interview (the machine translation is horrible):
Slavik and Elena were present at a comp where they were interviewed by the staff of dancesport.ru.
1) During the interview Slavik said that he has tried out with someone but didn't specify who. He confirmed that he and Elena split.
2) Earlier (after the earlier news release on dancesport.ru about him partnering up with Hanna and Elena partnering up with Andrey) Slavik has posted on the forum on dancesport.ru that he and Elena haven't decided yet about future partnerships, and thanked his fans for caring so much about his career. The posts were very warmly received by fans, and many wrote back words of support and admiration (though some expressed doubt whether it was really Slavik posting on the forum). During the interview Slavik confirmed that it was really him posting on the forum from a friend's computer. He also thanked his fans.
3) During the interview Slavik wished readers good luck and wished that on dancesport.ru forum there were less insults towards dancers. (russians are not too polite on that site, often posting very offensive comments regarding other dancers, especially under videos). He said it is unpleasant to read such rude and unjustified comments about himself or other dancers. (Though I don't think there were many, if any, offensive statements towards Slavik personally as he is very much loved and respected in Russia by everyone)
4) Elena Hvorova did not comment.

I really cannot stand it when someone else's words are being twisted to
push one's own agenda forward. Slavik never said anything about being
against gossip in general. Whether he is or not is not for me to judge but
to put words in his mouth that he has not spoken or written is disturbing to say the least. I read his comments in Russian and if anything he sounded pleased that
his fans are so interested in his career. What he was against is people being rude (quite understandable) not gossip or social chit-chat on the forums.
Larinda McRaven
02-19-2008, 10:52 PM
I did not twist his words, I interpreted the babel translation as best as I could. So you are free to interpret his post your own way (and if you speak/read Russian then you would have a better idea of his intent than me) but I still stand by the agenda of DF. And that IS what I will push, it is my job to ensure a safe pleasant environment.

It's very easy to misinterpret on forums, in one language, much less two, or a rough translation. However, an unintentional misinterpretation is just that - unintentional, which is far less hurtful than accusing someone directly and specifically of motive or agenda.

Slavik Kryklyvyy + Hanna Kartunnen
Feb. 20th. Hanna Kartunnen has told Dance Beat that although she is still dancing in her heart, she is not yet ready to dance with a partner yet. From her native Finalnd where she is currently residing, Hanna told us that she and Victor Da Silva split for personal reasons that had nothing to do with their dancing. "Our dancing together was something beautiful for me," said Hanna. She denied that she is currently dancing with Slavik Kryklyvyy.

well, if there were letters such as "Ы" and "Й" in the English alphabet, I am sure Slavik would use those. Instead he has to replace all the missing letters with a "Y". :-)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have to agree with croaker, I am also agaist twisting other people's words to prove one's agenda. In the interview Slavik expressed appreciation to his fans for the interest in his career, and only wished "there were less insults" (he said nothing against rumors or discussions or speculations e t c)
I understand fascination's point that this is a policy on this forum no matter what,
but please lets state it as that, and leave it as just that, and not try to make it sound like Slavik also wished that.

I am thrilled that Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko have gotten together. They told me they are very, very happy with each other and hit it off right away. I'm sure I can say this as their partnership is not unknown by now I'd assume. I have watched Riccardo for years and though I have only seen Yulia in the last two I have loved her dancing as well. My partner and I had the pleasure of lesson time with Paul last year and I would encourage any DF'er to do so if such an opportunity arises. He's a wonderful teacher, with a great sense of humor and a very clear way of communicating ideas that makes it not only easy to understand the principles, but also to remember them later. With guest instructors you never know what you're going to get for your money -- sometimes you feel as if you've wasted your hard earned cash -- but I must say that this was one of the best values I've enjoyed in a guest coaching session.

No plans to come to Boston at the moment, but am always willing. I was usually so busy travelling for comps that I was usually only in NY for a few weeks at a time. Now I hope to spend a bit more time in one place.
Masaya, if I get the chance and can work out a way to put in writing what I know, I will try to do so. It is a lot easier saying what you do rather than writing it. Well done to all of you who actually do try to express the dancing in the written word. There have been some really good explanations:notworth:
All the best

The first show of Hanna and Slavik will be April 26th, in Austria.
Anyone know where I can find a cheap flight to Austria!?

When's that? Do you have any more details / info?
It will probably cost you less to go to Austria. :)

For sure! A LOT less!
I looked on the website but it says nothing on there, just about Max and Beata's show. Any details anybody has would be greatly appreciated!
I Googled "Emerald Ball Slavik Hanna" and nothing relevant came up on the first couple of pages.

Maybe it's supposed to be some sort of surprise thing to have them there?
I don't know, but if it was me having them perform at my event, I would be more than shouting about it, the minute it was confirmed!
