Im not sure if you have certain rules regarding posting links to websites, so if this isnt allowed just delete it :)

I found a site that sells really good shoes, I bought a pair myself and amd wanting another pair (in case they stop selling them when my current one wear out!) They are much cheaper than anywhere else I have found the same shoes listed.

The site is a a bit confusing to navigate but you get there!

its www.dancesavvy.com

Have a look :D

ShyDancer

Yeppers I have most certainly tried them out! So far they are the most flexible shoes I have owned/tried on (a big fusspot when it comes to shoes here :lol) and that clip-buckle system! Oh that LOVELY WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL clip buckle! I used to stab myself repeatedly whil trying to get those annoyingly tint buckles in, with these you just set the buckle to your comfort level, then you simple clip it in every other time!
My poor other shoes have been totally neglected for the last 2 months because the ones I got from there are my faves!
I have the flesh colored ones in the main pic on the home page :D

They are the same sizes as here d_f ... I take a 6.5 in supadance & Paul Wright and 6.5 in the Very Fine.

Im seriously considering style 1636 from the very fine range ..... I know I just got the other pair and they are sensational, but those 1636's just about have me wrapped around their little.....er heel!

Liked..No

Loved.. YES!

They are great! Very fine seem to be making them better now, these are much lighter than the other 2 pairs I have and I also noticed that there is a metal rod through the sole, the insert is a sort of vinyl/leathery material instead of the velour in the others and the suede soles are much better quality.

What do you charge for the int. shipping? ..... uh-oh .. i feel that annoying itch to buy buy buy coming on!

There are some websites that carry men shoes. But I am not sure about their quality. I dont know if they are reliable. Which brand is good for men shoes though? I have no idea.

But for lady's shoes, I am an expert! I spend too much money on dance shoes. As a beginner, I have 3 pairs! But I dont think they are enough for me. I am looking for another pair of shoes for my purple dress. I love purple! Any suggestion?

I also sell on ebay and I have noticed that I am the only one who accept returns/exchanges. Even when buying from a webstore check their policies some I've seen charge a $25 restocking fee for a $60 pair of shoes.

The one nice thing about ebay from a buyers perspective is that you can tell more who you are dealing with by their feedback and if they "rip" you off you have ebay to go beat them up

dancingtiffany
08-04-2004, 12:54 PM
Thanks for the advice.

The exchange problem is not so important to me. I bought a few pairs of dance shoes, and I have the same sizes.

Ebay is a good way to order dance shoes. The price is unbeatable! But they seem to have less styles than the online dance shoes stores. But I will wait for ebay. Sometimes, when the sellers put the shoes on auction, they are a bit cheaper than the "buy it now" price. Just $38, $39!! I always want to bid the shoes, they are so beautiful!!!! YET..... they are not in my size....

Thanks Pygmalion for your welcome! :) I certainly enjoy the forums, so far I've got a few useful links from this site to some AT sites. I love AT, do you dance AT as well?

However, the only "complaints" I have about those AT shoes on dancesavvy is that they don't have "skinny heels". I love AT shoes with skinny heels, they look so elegant! But perhaps that's just me because some people sure don't feel safe to dance in heels like that! :)

Hello: I am giving an honest report of a pair of Very Fine dance Shoes.
I did order a pair for my Dance Partner. #5017 . It was a Latin 3" Black pair with Black mesh. The price was just under $60. A great Deal, however remember "very fine" is a name, not describing the actual shoe exactly.
They are good, but I would not say Very Fine. Not when you compare to Dance Naturals from Italy for $129.
First Off, thery are very comfortable with a thicker/softer sole. They are like Dance Slippers, but the leather is not the same. Looks like it, but under carefull inspection you will notice that something is different. The Quality is not there, but how could they be for the price, you cannot expect the best for the lowest price. It just does not happen. The special strap buckle is made to appear that it is easier to use by yourself, but it is really because the cheap plastic strap does not hold up to repeated use. It quickly became rough on the edges, as it is thin covering comes up. Not like solid leather strap.
Also if you take a thumb nail, and pick at the side of the leather sole, you will see that it seperates in layers, as this type of leather is pressed from very thin layers, not a nice solide thick piece as in quality shoes. This is the same type of leather used in cheap imatation purses.

The heal had a nice touch as it had a small piece on the plastic heal which is unusal, but a very good idea.

The slection of Very Fine is also very impressive. Lots of assortment to choose from. however the shoes are not of the highest quality or Very Fine in Quality. So don't expect it, or even demand it.

If you are a Dance Professional, or Instructor, you probably already know this, but for beginners taking lessons, go for it. They are like Dance Slippers and very comfortable with a good price, and wide selection.

But if your looking for the Best Dance Shoes, Try Dance Natural from Italy. Its like fine jewerly and high fashion, you get what you pay for.

Many above posts are very happy with very fine Dance Shoes, and I can see why, but I also beleive they will not last for very long due to lower quality in materials being used in the construction. The labor is fine.

The metal shank is weak and bends under stress, the leather is thin, imitation, and not solid, the inner sole is soft and comfy but not solid feeling of true leather that cradles the foot in.

The price and selction is a plus and I would still consider ordering another pair,

As far as the name" very fine" it is somewhat misleading, but in america this is done everyday by some of the largest corporations, who very successfully market using this so that customers think they are really buying what the name says.

If it sounds to good to be true it usually is.
Very Fine at the Lowest price is not possible so don't expect it!

all the above positive posts, how are your shoes after 4-6 months of use.

How about 1 year, are they holding up?

I would like to hear from those that have used their Very Fine Shoes in a very demanding way, and let us know how well they are holding up, and how long to expect these " veryfine shoes to last.

DancingMommy

I can tell you that even the most expensive shoes from Europe (Freed, Supa, International, Dance Naturals) don't last 6 months on MY feet. I wear the soles off, the heel taps through and the shoe box breaks down very easily.

I'm going in for my first pair of VF dance shoes when I get some extra money. I currently am in a pair of Capezio DanceSport shoes and the elastic around the vamp is killing me.

I can't tell you how many pairs of shoes I've owned at 100+/pair. If I can get 6 months out of a pair of VF shoes, I'll be MAKING money, lol!

Tasche - I'll be getting with you on a pair when I get back from Asia. ;)

pygmalion
08-10-2004, 03:58 PM
Yup, DancingMommy, wear and tear is completely different from person to person.

And, in all fairness to tasche, who sells these shoes, she mentioned her view on VF shoes in another of our many shoe threads (I hope I can find the exact quote later, but we do have a LOT of shoe threads. LOL) She does not recommend the shoes for serious competitive wear, but for an entry-level shoe or for social wear. I'll go look for an exact quote.

And, if you prefer Dance Naturals, do a google search on discount Dance Naturals. I've seen a few places where you can get selected styles discounted to $69. Why pay full price, if you don't have to? 8)

pygmalion
08-10-2004, 04:06 PM
Okay. Here's one of the quotes I was looking for. No time for more now, since I'm headed out.

Yes I would recommend these for beginners due to the extra padding provided around the ball of the foot. As you become more advanced you develop fatty deposits on the balls of your feet to protect you form the impact. When your starting you dont have that so to wear soles without padding causes alot of pain.

Let me share my comments on Very Fine. I have three pairs of VF shoes: 6030, 6005 and 5008. One of them is bought three/four months ago. The third pair is bought in June.

For the quality, I don't have any expensive shoes to compare, but they are good enough for me. I have the 6030 and 6005 in satin and the 5008 in tan leather. They are still in good shape. And I love the buckles! It just takes a second to put them on! Fast and easy!

I guess the shoes will still look nice in a few months at least. I don't expect them to last for a few years. I prefer paying less each time and buying new styles in a few months!

For this level of price, I am very happy with the shoes!

It seems that they are having more and more color and styles. I will wait for one/two more months and get another pair! 8)

DancingMommy
08-10-2004, 06:03 PM
AMEN!

At the rate I wear out shoes, I'd rather pay the $58/pair and have something new often than have to stay committed to a dingy pair of shoes I paid over $100 for...

tasche
08-11-2004, 02:39 AM
Let me state for the record that I trash a pair of $150 supadance shoe in about 3 months. I've broken the shanks in one pair before

I feel that Very Fine is a more than appropriate name. Now if it was "best dance shoes in the world ever" then that might be a stretch.

As I've stated before that this brand fits a niche that other brands like coast and elegance try to fill but at a slightly better price.

Now this is a new company ( under 1 year) and in the time I've been dealing with them I have been impressed with how the quality has improved over time.

Now I always feel when buying lower cost leather products that you have to consider that the manufacturer has to make a choice between thickness and softness. The leather this company uses is similar to that used by fashion shoe manufacturers like nine west.

I dont find that the suede seperates though of the shoes I have stored I find they all have one piece suede soles. Having said all that I was most impressed with the quality of the leather shoes considering the wholesale price and my prior experience as a garmento

In dance you should always try and find the shoe that meets your performance needs. In pointe shoes a capezio or bloch may be suitable for a beginner but a more advanced student may need a freed or a Grisko

A $150 for a casual or beginning dancer is overkill.

Incidently of the 100's of pairs I've sold I've ahd not one complaint about the quality or them falling apart.

Just a q you say you bought them for your partner? So yout dont actually wear them youself?

danczr
08-11-2004, 03:18 AM
No I don't Wear Them, cause I am M. however I did purchase them for my Dance Partner. My Mom bought a pair also from Apple Shoes on E-bay.
Yes I agree with the posts for the money they are a good deal. My Mom is also Happy with her shoes. I notice the lether on her sole seperates when I press finger-nail on side. It appears that the leater is pressed together and not a solid piece, but my DancePartners Latin Shoes are. I did check that out because you said yours was solid. I think it may vary then depending on the style and when they were produced as you mention they are improving their quality.

I totally agree with the selection available, WOW!

Price Leader also. Came with Free Shipping in only 2-3 days.
I ordered Directly from Manufacture in Southern CA

My DancePartner commented immediately they felt like slippers.
At first she did not know if they would work out, but after-wards she said they would be good for soar feet, but she did prefer her Dance Naturals.

That is not good as they cost me $129 plus s/h and tx

I still owe her a pair from christmas. 3.5" Latin Bronze color Square Heel

That is why I purchased these Very Fine shoes, to keep the little girl happy for now, without spending over a hundred dollars. She needed a Black pair immediately.

I am going to get a purple one and a fish silver one in a few weeks for her.
I owe her $$ for a vacation we took and she paid for. So the shoes will give me a credit on that account.

Very Fine Dance shoes are Very Good.
She did like them, but still prefers Dance Naturals article 3x
She liked the clear mesh, versus the black, and said because her whole foot showed thru they were sexier. I also must agree.

subtle and personal preference I know.

You are correct when you say that it is better to own more variety and more shoes for a shorter time, with a smaller upfront cost, and yes they are perfect for someone just getting started, and also for Social Dancing after Dinner, and would look great with a cocktail dress or cruise ship vacation, or new years/prom etc.

I truely also enjoy seeing the variety of Very Fine even though I do not wear these type of shoes. For men the selection is very minimal. There are only 2-3 shoes that I like, and they are always Black.

Cool! Are all these shoes up on your site, tasche, or do I need to PM you to request a catalog?

Many are up on the ebay store. I need to rethink the flow of my website and hire some pro designers.

PM me and I'll mail you a hard copy

Hey tasche. Are you around? I was on your ebay store today, trying to buy four pairs of shoes. I have a question that I'll PM you.

Thanks. I got it, but I'm swamped. Packing my house and moving across the country. So, since I PM'd you, I've had a garage sale, packed everything I can think of, met with my local real estate agent, chosen houses on line, signed up for new health care benefits, put stuff in storage, had my house painted and my carpet cleaned ... I'll be back on your site ASAP -- tomorrow or Thursday, so I can get my shoes. I'm just buying direct. Can't wait for the ebay auctions. Gotta pack three pairs and keep one with me til I move.

Yeah. Technology pretty much does what it wants to, which is invariably go down when you need it. :?

How this one happened I dont know but basically I edited my store and my whole account "disappeared" apparently this has happened to other ebayers. Geez with paypal being down for half of last week ( not having access to your money for half a week is hell ) you kind of wonder what Meg Whitman is doing up north

Sorry to be a pain tasche, but a quick question on sizing (again). Someone said earlier in this thread that Supadance, Paul Wright and your shoes are all the same sizing. I have a pair of size 7 Paul Wright and size 4.5 Supadance, so now I'm really confused. :?

I really like a couple of the clearance pairs you have posted and though I shouldn't be buying more shoes the price is really good. Since I won't be able to return them, I really need to buy the right size because to waste that money for me at the moment is just not an option.

Please help!!

tasche

No supadance is definately not the same as our sizing. Our shoes are standard US sizing which is the same as Australian sizing so if your a Supadance 4.5 you'll be a 7 in our shoes

Thanks for that tasche. That's a relief to know! The pair I was looking at are 6.5, so probably wouldn't be a good move considering it took me a couple of months to stop my supadance from pinching around the toe!

Will definitely keep you in mind for my next pair though. I like the brown satin colour. Something I haven't seen in any of the dancewear shops local to me.

Just a quick note on these.

I have owned and used my Very Fine dance shoes for a year now. They have held up well over the past twelve months and are used 2 and sometimes 3 times a week. I LOVE the closure as it is the easiest then to get on and off.

I've also not had any problems with my suede bottoms. Granted, I take care of them brushing them after every outing (and sometimes occasionally throughout).

Anyway, inquiring minds wanted to know how they held up after a year. There you have it.

I like the tan suede/mesh practice shoe, VF 1644 on your site, Tasche.
I'm looking for extreme comfort, like leather. What does the mesh FEEL like on your foot? What exactly is it made of?

Anybody worn those mesh/strappy shoes? What do you thinkof the feel of the mesh? Does it give? rub? blister?

Hmmm....the very first pair I owned had mesh inserts. It didn't rub or anything, but those shoes died very quickly. Granted, they were Celebrity, which I didn't think were the best quality.

Update: I finally got my DanceNaturals (the gorgeous new style with the all metal heel). The heel is set closer to the arch than on any other pair I've ever had, and therefore feels quite a bit higher than the 3" they claim to be. Despite this, they have really great balance and they actually fit my arches! Yayyyy, high heels that fit my arches! I hardly had to break them in, too. :D :D :D

Wow, RM, those sound gorgeous :!: I'd love to see a picture!! :D
It makes sense to me that they would be more balanced with the heel farther in. I always prefer shoes like that. I feel unbalanced when the heel is set too far back. And Yay! they fit!
My shoe lust is running hot, anyway, I've been dance shoe shopping online all day, and it was SO much fun! And, that is a first.
I think I've found...*The Perfect Shoes!* The Perfect Social Shoes.
The Perfect Tan Leather Latin Social Sandals, thank you very much!

Well, if you go to www.dancenaturals.it (i think i can post the live link, since you can't actually buy shoes from the website, grrr), click on Collezione, then Donna, then on the rolling "visit our special collection" banner, it's the Art. 886 Venere one. I know it's complicated, but there isn't a direct link, and what's a few extra clicks for a shoe addict? [/img]

Rm, those shoes are GORGEOUS!!! They have the most beautiful design. Where are the prices? I am in love with the #883, but with a 3" heel, and the price, they will likely remain a dream.

Nope, I'll have to forgo the best for now, and get a cheap pair. (sigh)

I was all excited about the nice cheap pair I found, (part of the the thrill of the hunt is finding a bargain) but now that I've been looking at those beautifully designed Dance Naturals, I want the best!
It's only natural to want the best, the most stable, the most comfy, the most gorgeous dance shoes available, right?
Tell me I'm not alone.

I just ordered a new pair of standard shoes! :) I've gotten latin shoes from this company (DSI) - they don't last as long as some of the better brands, but they're super comfy and the balance and support is fine - they just wear out a little faster - but they're cheaper than most . . .

In any case, I'm giving their court shoes a try - will report when I get them!

(Hoorah for shoe shopping! Oh the things I could do if someone else was going to pay the bill! :))

Hmm. I didn't think they looked all that bad. *shrug* If they're balanced properly, high heels (even the pencilly ones) aren't difficult to walk or dance in, IMO.

Since I never ever wear those pencilly heels anyway, I was thinking more about getting stepped on by them than walking or dancing in them... :OUCH!:

Comfy court shoes?
I wore Supadance Pointy Toe Killers, they were never what I'd call comfy.
