Okay, I have done several searches on this but my question was not answered. I am going to be competing pro-am soon and have started looking for shoes. I went out today and ended up trying on about ten pair. The ones that fit me best were a pair of Stephanies the only thing is they have a diamand-like buckle thing on the toe. It's pretty big. I know that in am. syllibus decorations on shoes are banned. Does this hold true for pro-am as well?
I am going out again tommorow to another place to see if I can find ones that fit but don't have as much "bling" on them but if I can't find ones that fit as nicely could I get away with those?
Thanks so much.

There is no such rule for pro-am regarding decorations. Wear them if you love them and they feel good!

hijacking the thread a bit...there is no decorating allowed for am/am syllabue events? What about those clips that have some stones on almost all latin shoes? They are not illeagal, are they?

No sparkles at all for USA Dance Syllabus, but really who is going to see such a tiny little buckle on a shoe?

is this new or am I just ignorant b/c I don't dance latin and never had to worry abot having sparkles on court shoes?

USA Dance rules have been changing a lot over the past few years, so if you're not caught up in dealing with that then you may have missed it.

I got another pair of stephanies that don't have the rhinestones. They fit really well. I can't believe I finally have my own ballroom shoes. :nope::nope::nope:

Yay!
I wear Stephanie from time to time -- in fact I kind of would like to get another pair soon. They are very soft and comfortable right from the start, which is great except in my opinion they don't last as long because they are already flexible out of the box.

Ya, I actually read that somewhere else but they seemed to be the only shoes that fit me well (I tried on about 100 shoes lol) I think its a toss up you either get comfort right away or you get a long lasting shoe. Now if only we could somehow combine the two...
