Pinnacle studio question

Anyone else using pinnacle studio 10 to capture analog video output? I am having some trouble with it, the capture splits the screen in a weird way. Has anyone seen something like this or can suggest a solution? I just don't have a lot of time to spend on it right now, so any hints will be welcome.

I use Studio 8, but I've never experienced the problem you describe.

To troubleshoot, I'd try another program to capture the input or even another computer using either Studio or other software, just so you can troubleshoot whether the problem lies with the software itself, a cable connection, the video capture device, or the video source.

I finally got to try it again and it seems like it is the capture device itself. I tried using Nero instead of Pinnacle studio, tried updating the drivers, tried using different USB port, tried connecting my vcr to it instead of video camera and it still does not work. I think I will eventually buy a digital video camera and if it has pass-through feature, it'll be great, and if it does not, and I find an old tape I feel sentimental about, I will send it somewhere to convert.

OK, one last update. I was able to get it to work if I use Nero instead of Pinnacle studio software, AVI capture format and plug it in directly, not through a USB hub. But still, it is a PITA to use.
