Read that FADS vegas comp was second largest in country this year having 11,000 entries. Aren't there others with 11,000? Just doesn't seem that could be the 2nd largest. Could be that everyone is doing crazy amount of entries.

Southern States in New Orleans had over 7,200 entries this year.

I thought Millenium and Heritage were bigger

Entries is more a measure of business scope than of competition size. I'd be curious to see the number of people involved.

You are absolutley right Chris. The regional FADS that I attend I see that it is not so much the amount of dancers but the incredible amount of heats that the pro/ams choose to do.

If you're talking about Pro/Am comps, Ohio Star Ball (which limits the number of categories and ages someone can enter), Emerald Ball, and Holiday Dance Classic have all gone over 10,000 entries. I'd say Ohio is the biggest in terms of number of actual competitors.

Ohio is the largest in entries, and either Emerald or Heritage is 2nd. Heritage had over 12,000 this past year I believe.

Maybe it was 2nd largest among FADS comps?

Possibly, though I suspect it's first on FADS. AAC was smaller (Chicago), and only other one likely to be close is Orlando in October. I haven't been to Vegas or Orlando comps, but my understanding is that Vegas is the biggest of the three. Course, AAC is still my favorite because I don't have to spen dthousands on airfares, entries, tickest, etc, can just show up after work and cheer for friensd. :)

This is the most entries for any FADS comp ever. Wether it's the second biggest comp in the country is not that important. This is a BIG COMP.

I can you let know the actual count of competitors once I get there and/or get home depending when I get internet access.

I doubted the claim when I heard it; but that doesn't stop it from being a very, very large event. (Same as when some show couples heavily shade the truth about their dance history.... the simple truth is just as impressive.... I have to wonder why they change their story so drastically depending on the audience..)
