About half an year ago it struck me that most of the time when I went to a party or dance class and I had to change my shoes I would skip washing my hands. So now I always wash my hands if I have to change shoes. After that I started paying attention to the people around me. It turned out that most of the people don't wash their hands after they change their shoes. But the weird thing is that nobody seems to be bothered by that...
And here comes the question. :) If you bring a second pair of shoes to a party, where do you put them on? In the main saloon or somewhere else - near the wardrobe(if there is one), in the toilet, etc.

depends on how badly the shoes smell...also, I find it easier to take alchohol gel to disinfect my hands...just another option

Gel or wipes are the appropriate solutions. As for culture/manners; one should never bring shoes not in a shoe cover (bag, etc), and one should always change in a seperate area of the main salon (though, many of 'us' don't always, and it appears to be acceptable).

I don't see any issue with changing shoes in the main room - I've always done it (to one side) and it's never bothered me if others do...
