Hi Everyone, (particularly those in California or who have diabetes!)
Some of you may have seen on my website home page a section dedicated to my personal cause of Dancing for Diabetes...well, I just found out that the company I work for, Novo Nordisk, is hosting a contest related to that cause and the winner will be announced by Drew Lachey on location. It will be based in California during the American Diabetes Association meeting no June 7, 2008, so this may appeal to those residing in California most, as you would be closest in regards to location.

It sounds like there will be people entering just for fun, not necessarily serious dancers, but I thought I would throw it out there! Here are the details or search for dancingtochangediabetes::D

You've watched Drew Lachey dance with the pop group "98 Degrees" and win season two of "Dancing with the Stars". Now, he gets to be the judge. Lachey has teamed up with Novo Nordisk to increase diabetes awareness with the Dancin' to Change Diabetes (http://ema.macrosoftinc.com/lcc/www/r?1000000420.1020.27.sq8v5qkAAByiR+) national online video contest. So tell your patients, friends and family to put on their dancing shoes–we want to see the cool dance moves that help them stay active and healthy.

All they have to do is grab a video camera, pick a favorite tune and dance–a healthy form of exercise to curb the risk of diabetes. Lachey will lead a panel of judges in selecting three video finalists who will then be voted on by the public.

The winning dance clip will be announced in San Francisco on Saturday, June 7, 2008, during the official ceremony of the Novo Nordisk Changing Diabetes® Bus World Tour (http://ema.macrosoftinc.com/lcc/www/r?1000000420.1020.23.MLGaJKiX1KbcgQ) and Diabetes Village on Pier 39, East Park.

It's all part of our goal to help turn the tide of diabetes through public education on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. So spread the word. And join us to change diabetes!

Video contest submissions will be accepted from 12:01 p.m. EST May 5, 2008 through 12:01 p.m. EST May 26, 2008.
