Sarasota - St Pete - Pinellas?

Anybody on here from Pinellas / Sarasota / Tampa / St Pete area(s)?

I'm looking for recommendations for any dance studios that offer drop in classes. Also any tourista friendly clubs or ballrooms.

What's the dance scene like down there?

I used to dance in Sarasota. A couple of places worth checking into would be Saradance, Ballroom of Sarasota, and Dance Palace if it still exists. I used to work at the Fred's there, but I don't know how they're doing.

My old stomping ground. there are several in St. pete ( or were have been gone 5yrs ) .
One in particular that runs socials 2/3 times a week.... the name escapes me, but its been there for several yrs

A friend tells me I should really go shelling on Sanibel as I'm a beach freak. If I recall my FL geography, that's not too far from Naples.

Never been to Sanibel, but I do believe it is closer to Fort Myers and Naples than St. Pete. St. Pete is another 45 minutes to an hour north of Sarasota depending on how fast you drive and traffic. Funny how most of us people talk of distance in time instead of miles/kilometers as it really depends on conditions and how fast you drive :) The distance from Naples to Sanibel is much less than the distance from St. Pete to Sanibel.
