TLC has a new show, very much in line with the home-improvement shows where a expert steps in to work magic for some ordinary soul or couple.
This one is called "Rock the Reception". Three couples beg TLC to set them up with a instructor to choregraph a dance the wedding reception. That's on this coming Sunday.
Tne TLC does a second dance show, Masters of Dance, June 9. Comp style show with Joey Lawrence hosting.
As to whether either will be worth a watch???
I'll probably watch both. Thanks for letting us know about them!

Thanks also,
You never know what these shows will be like until they air. Hopefully they will be entertaining.

Well, I thought that thing with Ian Ziering was a trainwreck but maybe this will be worth a look.

Isn't TLC also the channel that tried that Ballroom Bootcamp series a while back?

Just saw 2007 World Salsa Championship on ESPN2. I guess we have to thank DWTS for all this air time that TV networks are now giving to dancing...

Indeed. I watched that avidly. A year or two after the original series, they tried to remix the shows and re-air them.

ESPN is, next to the home shopping channels, the most ignored on my television. I'll have to keep an eye out for a possible dancesport show on ESPN from now on.
Well at least you get something, we get nothing! :-( I am sure there are plenty of comps happening around the world that they could show a lot more. Like Blackpool is on now and no-one shows anything.

Well, I thought Ballroom Bootcamp's biggest problem was being far too pre-scripted and over-produced, so I'm hoping that TLC doesn't go in that same direction with its new dance offerings... :?

We have noted this many times before. I wonder, does anyone know if it is because the powers that be within Blackpool don't WANT it televised or otherwise broadcast outside of the Dancing Channels? I would not be surprised if there was a gauntlet of hoops to fly through in order to get "rights" to broadcast it. How complicated is it to get OSB aired, for example? (I'm not asking these questions like I know the answer, mind you. I'm more or less musing.)

Hey, thanks, two! Midweek, midday, but that's why they make VCRs (I still Tivo- and DVR-less in this modern world).

I'm so glad. I say the more dance on TV the better. I can't really get enough. It's got me enrolling in more classes and taking my dancing much more seriously. Even the shows that aren't primarily focused on dance like America's Got Talent, are great. It's staring again on June 17th. I'll be watching. Who else likes this show?

This seems to be a recurring theme to your posts... any particular reason. Because if your only purpose here is to push an agenda, well we would be better off without it. However if you are genuinely here to discuss dancing, then welcome aboard.
