has anyone used lancome brand products for competition or everyday wear?
I saw they have some really nice eyeshadow colors, and lipstick colors,
has anyone tried them? how do they wear?

i like them a lot for everyday, i think they are too pastelish for comps.. even dark colors go on very very softly..

what about lipsticks? or blushes? or bronzers?
or moisturizers?

not sure only used shades
I've used their products for everyday wear. I really like one of their foundation formulas. The coverage is good and the product doesn't break down a lot during the day. I also like their eye makeup remover.
I've tried other products received in gifts with purchase. With the eyeshadows, generally the colors are too light or unflattering for me, and they don't wear well. I don't like their mascara, as it usually flakes when I use it. The lipsticks are fine, they seemed to wear as well as most other brands.
By the way, Lancome is owned by L'Oreal.
or moisturizers?
I've liked the moisturizer samples when I've used them. For everyday wear now, I use L'Oreal products with retinol.

I've used all of Lancome's products for both every day and competition. I like them all, although I personally like MAC a little more. MACs lipsticks seem to stay on my mouth better, and their eyeshadows are more highly pigmented. But hey, if you've got a lot of Lancome stuff laying around, don't be afraid to use it.

Some of their stuff has a bit of a fragrance I don't really care for (I'm very sensitive to that, tho), but I do swear by their bronzer in a tube w/brush built in. I use it in place of blush and it has lasted me a ridiculously long time.

Haven't tried Lancome much. If you want fantastic makeup for everyday and especially comps, use Chanel. Love everything they make. And the fragrances are the best!

I just tried the Chanel foundation for the first time and I really liked it. It was a bit heavier than the Lancome products, which at times is really nice. Although I prefer Lancome for everyday. I like their mascara though!
I have recently tried the Chanel eyeshadow and I am hooked! I love it!!!
I agree with the MAC for comps, even though I haven't tried it myself. When I have seen it on others it looks great! We are selling a lot of Eye Kandy for comps and I have noticed even on DWTS they are using it (or a similar product). You can control the intensity and it is AWESOME!!!

My favorite mascara is Lancome's L'Extreme.

a great resource for GENERAL (not competition) reviews of makeup products is makeupalley dot com. you really can't do better (again, NOT FOR COMPETITION reviews, but reviews by everyday users).
I will go and look at the MAC counter and see what they have to offer, I am due for a new foundation, but with a mature skin I find (foundation)them sometimes too heavy, but will see what they have to say.

love lancome press powder (I think called double matte) for comp and everyday. Love Lancome, love a lot of their products, like their eyeshadows, great color, doesn't cause crease although I use a good eyeshadow base. Also their lipsticks. it's a great line!!!

so i purchased like 4 of their lipsticks and bronzer and a bunch of other stuff but lipsticks and bronzer are awesome!!!!!!
their eyelinier is very easy to use, i like as well. I like to buy expensive liquid eyeliner so that it doesn't irritate the eyes with cheap ingredients..
did not like the mascara that much, though i did like it when i had a little tester tube before.. might have picked the wrong type though..
did not like any of their concealers! MAC consealers and loreal concealers and sephora concealers that i used in the past all seem better..

I so totally agree about Chanel! Especially the lipglosses . . . the boldest, brightest, most eye catching, strong, beautiful colours, and they last for ages. They get you noticed miles off. Love, love, love!

didnt' try the pressed powder.
what is the best way to apply it, with a brush? or with a sponge?
with powders, a lot of makeup pros recommend mineral foundation or powders, and a lot of companies do offer that.. i have MAC mineral powder (pressed, i apply it wiht a brush) and two different kinds of loose minaral powders from pharmacy... i don't use that muych powder, as i am afraid it is visible when you have powder on your face.. woudl be interested to learn to use it more..

I use the press powder by the sponge came with it or you can use it with a brush.
I've heard lancome concealer not up to par but never tried them myself. I do like their mascara though, I like definicil or extencil...
their eyeliner are great, but I don't see any difference between lancome or L'oreal eyeliner. I"ve heard people saying lancome and l'oreal are same company so a lot of products came from the same factory but with different packaging.

Actually L'oreal does have a lot of quality products which are similar to lancome, when I"m tight on budget, I buy l'oreal stuff instead of lancome.

you are welcome kitty:) acutally not sure if anyone knows about this, this is a lancome sale store in NYC on 5th avenue around 46th or 47th, the "L'oreal" building which is currently under construction, there is a discount cosmetic store selling lancome product at significant discount. I went there with friends around christmas time and bought lipsticks for $10 (they sell the same lancome lipstick at sephora or macy's at $22), press powder for $10, pure focus eyeshadow for only $5 ($15 at macys')...so great bargain:):) !!!!
sorry forget to mention it yesterday...just for those of you live in NYC and loves lancome products:)

btw, I'm not advertising here for that store, just thinking great sale, great bargain, to share with fellow df members;)
they also sell skincare product at 20%-40% discount...so usually I will check there first if I need anything from lancome before going sephora or macy's

That's L'Oreal's corporate store. They also have a massive sample sale every few months in the same building, where items are discounted much more than even in the corporate store. There was one a couple of weeks ago - they had Kiehl's, Lancome, Giorgio Armani, and a bunch of fragrances...

I haven't tried their fragrances, but I love perfume! Almost as much as I love cosmetics. Has anyone tried D&G new fragrance, "The One". I just love it. Found our recently that my daughter in law is wearing it too!
