Spider Flower: "Elope with me."
 So if, I should receive a bouquet of flowers containing the Spider Flower from one of our resident flirts, I now know what not to do
Oh, something I learnt from American Idol is that if the girl/woman wears the flower behind her left ear, (in Hawaii at least) it means that she is married. If she wears it behind her right ear, it means that she is single. The only "difficulty" is if I think my left side is my better side, what do I do

Oh no!! Giving flowers will never be the same for me! :( So much work, on top of deciding what flowers the recipient likes, and the type of flowers one gives for the particular gift giving occassion. :?

True, but I do remember this one occasion (many years ago) when I was really not impressed when my bf at the time turned up with flowers as an afterthought ("oops, I'd better get her something coz I konw she'd be mad at me for *******").......he must have got to the supermarket just before they closed, and got me this nearly-dead bunch with a tacky toy, completed with price tags :x   ! He'd have been better off not bringing me flowers!
Othe the other hand, my non-dancing ex once made me a beautiful corsage out of the roses from his garden, for no reason other than the fact that the roses reminded him of me.....oooooooh......*flutter!*
The moral of the story...? EFFORT & THOUGHTS make a world of difference!

Well yeah Peach, it was a very traumatic experience. We were walking on the sidewalk and I noticed we had just passed a flower shop. Spontaneously, I turned around and walked in the shop with her. I didnīt (and still donīt) know much about flowers so I just bought her a yellow flower which "I" liked a lot.
To my amazement, she bought me an orange flower. I think she wanted to give me a gift for the nice gesture. Anyway, back on the sidewalk she sniffed the yellow flower I had given her and then asked me to pass me the orange one. She then told me that the orange flower smelled much better than the yellow one. She just rambled on and on about how the orange flower was much more "beautiful", smelled nicer, blah, blah, blah... I got so mad that I told her, "OK! Iīll have the yellow one, you keep the orange one!" :x Happy now? She answered, "No it doesnīt make sense, we switched gifts, right?..."
Well, that was the last time I ever gave her a flower or any other kind of gift...
What ever happened to "itīs the thought that counts"... Right!

But brought up just in time for another friend's birthday!! :D hmmmm...what flower(s)/rose(s) to get her?....
Communicating with flowers never works out for me.
I say (in my most charming voice, with a smile) "Hello, flower!"
but it doesn't respond.
So I think, well, maybe it can't hear me... since it doesn't have ears. So I (in very charming sign language) say " <signing> "
and it still doesn't answer.
so I think, well maybe it can't see me.... since it doesn't have eyes. So I tap it on the shoulder to get its attention.
but it still doesn't respond.
So in irritation I rip it out of the ground and hand it to my girlfriend to dispose of.
My girlfriend responded with a warm smile and kiss, which is why I date her, and not a flower.
