How many studios are you going to?

Do you dance in one or many studios?
I take lessons in 2 various studios –one in NJ and one in NY and go to socials to 4 different studios in NJ.

It seems that various socials have different programs; some include even hot buffet, various teams, live orchestra, costume parties and so on.

lessons at one, socials at three (that one and two others) and visit three others to say hi to people, practice, etc.

currently, none...see gorgeous home practice room in avatar...but when I did dance elsewhere it could be as many as 4 different places a week since my pro was independent...when he wasn't, it was just one place...dh and I will do the occasional party at the studio where dh is on package and we will also frequent other places for parties and/or workshops

We only learn at one. I think it is less confusing. but we do go to a variety of schools for their social dances. We have such a large living room filled with furniture but we have no where to practice :-(, The outside is full of rough conrete that it eats up the shoes. Perhaps I will need to give away my furniture ;-)

I dance at only one studio. I don't social dance anywhere else, either.

Two, only b/c my Latin coach branched off and went independent. Luckily the two studios are in the same city.

As far as lessons go, my team has two main coaches from different studios that we have in for both group and private lessons on a regular basis. We also bring in professionals from other studios for the occasional group lesson and private lessons. So I take group and private lessons with the pros my team brings in, and they're from all over the place.

Some of our members also take privates with the other professionals at our coach's studio, too, but I don't .

I really enjoy the diversity. I learn steps well from some pros, styling better from others; sometimes it's just nice to get different points of view on the same idea. I especially like that we bring in pros that specialize, so I can learn Latin tech from our Latin-focused coach instead of our Standard-focused coach. We try to cover all four styles equally, but right now the coverage has been leaning more towards International.

As for social dancing... there are too many to count. If I'm free for the night and there's a dance anywhere nearby, I'll go. Since the closest studio to our team shut down, however, I don't have a social dance that I go to regularly.

Two right now, but in the past, three.

Right now I go to two different studios for classes, but have taken lessons at four or five different ones (not all at the same time!). In my area, there isn't just one studio that has good teachers for every kind of dance. So typically I have to go one place for swing, another for AT, etc.

There are about five or six places where I dance on a regular basis - again, depending on what kind of dance I want to do, and which day of the week.

I have taken group lessons at 4 total but only 2 at the same time. I take private lessons at my main studio only and always attend socials there. I go to socials at a few other studios now and then, usually ones hosted by USA Dance.

When I was a newbie and taking lessons at 2 studios at the same time, I found it somewhat confusing. Especially since they taught slightly different syllabi apparently. I had enough trouble learning just one.

Used to be 3, but now it's down to two. I go to one studio for group classes and an occasional social. I go to a different studio for privates and group classes as well. It's not very convenient but I find it help to hear different perspectives on things like technique and styling.
