Depends on what you are after. Tempo, type of music, ie rock, pop, classic. What sort of dance are you wanting to do?

Welcome to the forums, Waffa. :D Yeah, I'd like to know too. What kind of music/dance are you interested in? 8)

A second welcome to df Waffa! There are quite a few fast songs that one can do cool dances too. So, if you provide more details I'm sure that we can help you out. What competition is this dance for and what are the requirements. Usually there are some rules such as length of performance, whether costuming is allowed, perhaps different categories...

For swing, I'm partial to Sing, Sing, Sing. I LOVE that song...

Do you want fast swing or a slow one?

Fast...actually...
My local swing venue is a very old American Legion hall that was built right around WWI. It exudes the whole feel of the era...and the music played is 90% swing (10% ballroom and latin). Not only is it swing...but it is an excellent mix of classics and modern ALL fast enough for single-time swing. Way too fast for triple time. He throws a few slower songs in occasionally for Lindy Hop (and/or triple time swing for those that can't Lindy). Most swing lovers would be very jealous of the fun we have.
At the end of the evening...we do a swing circle where the best can spotlight very cool things. After swing circle...they typically do the Shim-Sham (which I'm learning bit-by-bit). Afterwards...more swing until midnight ending with the last song...a tango.
It is great fun dancing from 8:30-midnight.

'I don't wanna lose your love...'
That 80s song whose artist escapes me..
I heard it the other day on the radio and though it would be a cool song to hustle too.. Could probably be molded to other dances depending on how you listen to it...

If you want to do some hot, fast, latin moves, check out "Micaela" by Sonora Carruseles. If you just want to rock and shake butt, check out "A Namorada" by Carlinhos Brown(great party song!).

I consider this at the upper end of mid-tempo or the lower end of fast-tempo lindy hop music. If a song's too fast for lindy hop, it's also probably too fast for just about anything else except maybe sipping a drink.
But that's just me. And I like my lindy at 200-260bpm.

I'd say it is the lower end of fast lindy... Alot of people still think Lindy Hop is a dance between 130-160.
Personally I have little desire to swing out at over 300bpm but a balboa that fast is just cookin'.
Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier Brian, but the email address you used dormouse, has been swamped with spam (200-350 a day) that a number of legitimate emails have been lost. I've installed better filters but you should use the email I have linked for this forum.

And a third welcome Waffa! It would be helpful if you can tell us what type of dance it is you are doing as there are heaps of fast songs out there, but they are not appropriate for every style of dancing.

I pretty much like all versions of the song. I have a CD that is mostly original versions. Some of them sound a bit scratchy like they were originally in album version or something. The old Sing, Sing, Sing version I have is much slower than the modern versions with the opening bass drum sequence more emphatic (you can literally hear the imperfections in the drum).
It is just one of those songs I can't sit still on.
