From reading many posts here I see that a lot of people here do their dancing in clubs.

There's nothing like this here other then C&W, hip-hop and rock and roll, but are there places specifically catered to Salsa or swing where there's this type of dancing almost nightly?

What there is here are clubs that will do salsa on one night of the week. There are a number of latin clubs, but I think most of the dancing done is free style type dancing.

Depends on location. For a small place like Ithaca there isn't one place that will do salsa or swing every night. In larger metropolitan areas I would think that there would be.

even in LA i can think of only one club that has salsa every night: stevens steakhouse. and sunday night is THE night to be there. but there are definitely places to go salsa dancing any night of the week. harder to find a place to go swing dancing on mondays. now that the derby ended swing dancing on mondays, probably just "memories" in whittier.

in general, it's hard for "clubs" to be open every night for dancing - charging cover only accounts for a fraction of the income they expect to take in on a given night if they have a liquor license and good dancers don't buy a lot of drinks (& remain good dancers, seeing what alcohol does to one's motor skills, not to mention their courtesy level). the derby in hollywood (a place where THE best dancers used to go swing dancing) recently switched their saturday & monday night dances to sunday nights (with an occasional saturday night) for this very reason.

Over here in Japan, in the metropolitan cities, there are dance clubs all over the place. There are hip-hop clubs in Osaka that get jam-packed with cigarette-smoking juveniles and there are clubs that cater only to salsa lovers! Some places even have live bands from cuba and special events with visiting foreign artists! This is a real treat! Salsa is big here! When in Seoul, Korea a few weeks ago, we went to a salsa club- great music, some good local dancers and, ODD FOR ASIA, nobody, I mean NOBODY was smoking! It was great & I wasn't wheezing the next day like I usually am after the salsa parties in Japan, where every man, woman & child smokes!
