I wasn't going to go, but since I'm probably going to the NC Salsa Festival the weekend before, I am tossing the idea around.

Unfortunately, I'm not going this year. When's the NC Festival? That's almost driving distance for me, I think.

tj, the nc salsa festival is being held from August 8-10th. Sounds like quite a lineup (Yamulee, Masacote, and more). I like these types of events since they're more intimate than a congress. Here's a link: http://ncsalsafestival.com/

Unfortunately, no. :( I just spent the past two weeks out of town, so I've sorta blown my travel budget for now.

But jeez, Ms. Mayanempire gets to go to all the congresses. She recently posted a nice photo from Puerto Rico... :cool:

I will be at the DC congress, but probably only for the social dancing... I'm not sure yet if I will be there all three nights.

Well, as a matter of fact, Ms. Mayanempire has to miss out this year! :( I'm missing both of those events, in favor of the NYC Congress. Hope those of you who are going enjoy!

Oh no! I was looking forward to seeing you there! :( Speaking of upcoming events, I've been talking up the Chi-town congress to several friends, and it looks like my peer pressure--I mean positive influence is having some effect! It's the weekend before Flava, if I am not mistaken!

Chicago is in Feb. Flava is in April next year.

As was I, NL. Have a blast big enough for both of us! Joby Brava and Lucy Lu will be representing for the ladies of Atlanta. And don't worry about the Chi-Flava conflict--we moved the last Flava Invasion to April, so your problem is solved! Go do it big in Chi-town and then come party with us in the ATL in April! :)
Keep me updated on your other travels and, hopefully, you and I can catch up with one another soon.

I only attended Satuday night's social dance and show. Last year I attended the whole weekend. Last year I was disappointed in the number of times I danced at the social. This year I just went with no expectatoins --watch, see how it goes. This year I danced! I just kept smiling, watching, ... and I got asked to dance. I had a very nice time.
The crowd was cheerful with a wide range of ages and dance skills represented. Definitely, a good time!
