Hey all, I'm an 18 yr old male and about to go to my senior prom. Unfortunately, I have this problem that I cannot fast dance. It seems like everyone around me has some sort of rhythm and looks like they're dancing really awesome. Whenever I at least TRY to fast dance, ppl around me are like "WHAT are u doing?" If anyone could have some suggestions on how to fast dance at least halfway decent that would be great. This is my prom, so there's no REAL dancing, e.g. tango, waltz, etc. It is like a club so there'll be rap and fast techno pop songs. If neone could help me that would be awesome. Thanx. :D

Heavens. Those threads are hard to find, because I have no idea what they're called. Any ideas, anyone? I'll keep looking, but searching under club and dancing isn't much help. LOL.

Welcome to df androo468!! I'll see if I can find any old threads on this and related topics. I'm sure if I don't others will be able to help you out.

Welcome to the Forum Family, andyroo486!
Dancing is just moving your body to the beat of the music. It doesn't have to be choreographed or stylistic...just an expression of movement based on how the music makes you feel.
Dancing can be as simple as stepping from side to side and clapping your hands with the beat...to more difficult combinations including spins, level layering (ie standing up tall, half-bended knees for a mid level, or on knees for a lower level).
If there's someone you know whose dancing you enjoy, ask them to show you some moves. They'll be flattered by the offer and you'll score some cool self confidence.
Above all, just remember to enjoy yourself and have a good time. Don't work about what others says or think or do. Chances are, they're jealous of your care-free attitude to just do what you feel.
All the best!
