Because I found many topics posted by members who are interested in Romania or/and an eventual trip here ....i am forced to clarify a few things:
1. We have 1 salsa club in our capital Bucharest and a few clubs (3-4) with one latino night/week but there the music is.....latino-pop
2. In Romania we have approximately 3-4 schools including 140-180 students......so in total maybe we are max 100 true salseros
3. The prices in our only salsa club are:
Entrance : 3$ USA
Soft drinks: 1,3$ USA 330ml
Mineral Water: 1,3$ USA 500 ml
Tuborg Beer: 1,3 $ USA 330ml
Corona Beer: 3$ USA 330ml
Whisky J.W. : 4$ - 40 ml
1 pack of cigarettes Marlbore 1,2$ USA - 20 cigarettes
4. Taxi: from 0,30$ USA/km
5. Accomodation: Hotel Marriot (5stars)- most expensive from 225$ USA, but we can find much cheaper hotels
6. Medium restaurant (2stars) dinner for 2 persons aproximately 20$ USA
7. McDonald's : BigMac Menu 2,5$
8. Pizza Hut : large pizza 10$
Did u think that our country is expensive? Think and if u want to come here contact me and maybe together we'll organize first workshop or congress in Romania!
So which are your opinions?

Wow! The price of cigarettes is LOW. $1.20US? I'd forgotten how much US federal and local taxes add to the price.
Edit: Sorry. That's just my first reaction.
A salsa congress sounds like fun. :D

yes this is the price and Marlboro's are one of the most expensive brants:))
For example: Lucky Strike are 0,90$ USA (my favourite)
but our medium wage per month is 200$.......hard life....but with salsa music and dance ...our life is improved!

we've had guys from your country here before, and as my partner (that would be squirrel) has told you already, we have lots of 'attractions'!!!
really, it's serious... not a joke, if you want to come, you and any of your friends, tell me and we'' arrange someting... convenient...
but: from my experience, may i make a suggestion? come for more than a weekend, 'cause it'll be an interesting experience... my country is very different from others and it's fun to get to know it (and its inhabitants) better. and another suggestion, if i may: COME IN SUMMERTIME! :)))

 I was thinking about a long weekend eg. arrive Thursday/Friday and leave Monday.
I have two possible trips this summer and one in December to see my family already so not enough time and holidays to do much more
But, will see what I can do as "I don't react very well to the cold" Was in Prague about 3 years ago, November time, for a similiar long weekend and I, kind of froze

of, btw, so that you guys don't get the wrong impression: we DO KNOW how to salsa, we're not beginners... i think we would be rated somewhere betwwen internediates and advanced in your terms... :)) we do double spins and shines and dips and cross bodies (all sorts) and dips (and lifts)... this is why we were inquiring about famous dancers... but i guess we don't really know them... so if any of you guys suggest anyone who is not so famous, but a good instructor... feel free to mention him to us... or talk to him yourselves... or if any of you guys wanna come... you're more than welcome! we like to make new friends!
