I am going to be in DC the week after Easter for a series of meetings. Most of my time is booked except for Saturday night. I won't have a car but can manuever Metros and may wind up meeting up with old dancing friends that night. The question is... what are the good dances that you can recommend for me there? (Weekend is April 17.)

Try DCdancenet. It has a comprehensive listing of DC area dance venues.

Did that... information overload. :?

Of course, I'd like to solicit recommendations since I'd like to figure out which places people prefer to dance. Personally I'm interested in more ballroom, but as it is, I'm pretty much up for anything. I'm staying in downtown proper (near the White House, a bit further away from the Lincoln bedroom  ), so obviously anything near there that isn't filled with people who could creep a single out-of-town dancer out of his mind. I have danced in a few restaurants-turned-clubs before; maybe when I was younger I didn't mind having to stand in the corner as the local people danced and ignored me.

Obviously I'm hoping that I'd have a tentative plan, in case I do wind up meeting a partner-dancing fool or few at the meetings. Or anyone here. :)
