What do you consider a "lesson"?

People often say (or on DF, write) that they are taking dance lessons, but I'm curious what people mean by that. Around here "lessons" almost always means "group classes", but it seems like most people on DF consider "lessons" to mean private lessons. What about you, what does "dance lesson" mean to you?

Good question, and maybe we all need to clarify that point when we use the term "lesson."

-Group lessons . . . usually scheduled weekly throughout a given time frame . . .
-Class lessons . . . usually given just prior to a dance at social clubs . . .
-Lessons in a workshop at a dance event . . . or before a social dance . . .
-Lessons in a workshop intended as an all day/weekend workshop . . .
-Private lessons to imporove your social dancing . . .
-Private lessons from and individual instructor that also may coach you and a partner (I think we always use partner dancign as a standard here), but could be individual dancing (as in line-dancing) . . .
-Private lessons with a Pro to do Pro-am . . .
-Any variable of these . . .

Dance lessons, means group and/or private instruction to me.

For me a lesson is any time I am learning with an instructor, beit in a private or group format.

Lesson means either a group or private dance lesson for me too.

Hmm, it sounds like "lesson" is one of those ambigous terms whose meaning is determined by context. That's pretty much what I expected, since that's the way it is used - to mean either a private lesson, or a group class.
