Whilst doing the "housework" I [fill in the blank]

What dances do you do around the house when doing housework? Do you ever pick things up and dance with them and find that two days later the housework is no more advanced, than two days before :lol: I often catch myself doing shoulder movements, yet the funny thing is, when I am dancing salsa, I tend to move my shoulders mainly when doing my dearest Suzy Q :lol:

Most frequently, though, I work on rhythm technique. My apartment is too small to practice waltz, tango, foxtrot, or even bolero.

Whilst doing the housework, I tak on the phone, do other housework, work on rib isolations, plan my summer vacation, check into dance forums, talk to my mom ....

oh yeah. Practice rib isolations, usually while listening to salsa on XM. :wink: :lol:

I may not actually practice much while doing housework (I try to treat housework as an "in the moment" meditation), but I have arranged the furniture in my small living / dining room so that I can string together a few steps in waltz, foxtrot and tango!

I always do chores with music on. If I'm cleaning the bathroom...my computer is playing music...if in cleaning my room, my MP3 player is on. In the kitchen, I have a stereo in there with a 12 foot cable with headphones. :P

I usually blast Salsa music while cooking dinner and doing the dishes...and work on basic steps and shines in front of the stove. In my bedroom, since I do yoga/Qi Gong in the mornings, I've gotten quite good at putting my couch against the wall and clearing out my exercise/dance space.

I also work on Latin motion while in the bathtub...hmm...that was probably too much information! Just put your feet flat against one side of the tub, bend one knee and alternate...its actually quite fun! :D

I used to work on Latin in the bathtub. Translating obscure late Latin poetry that has been the basis for many a popular tune. Like this one by Iagerius:
