Folks who have tried Diamante court shoes,
How was your experience? My recent favorite shoes are Werner Kern. But I would like to try 2" heel shoes, and Werner Kern do not have them. I heard Diamante is very similar to Werner Kern and they have 2" heel. I would like to get some feedback about this brand before I try them.
Thank you.

I tried Diamante shoes for Latin.

Didn't like it. They are not flexible and soft. I don't know about court shoes, but for Latin - definitely not.

I wore Diamant for a while. At the time, I really liked them. Then I didn't wear them for nearly two years, and when I tried using them again I found them to be terribly stiff. It's not that they stiffened up, it's that what I wanted from a shoe had changed.

Hi Laura,

Which Diamante shoes did you have? Was it this one?

They do not look stiff. Werner Kern has very similar shoes like these. Actually I felt the ball area could be thicker because they hurt my feet after an hour of practice due to thin sole in the ball area.

BTW I cannot wear Supadance shoes. I think they are too narrow and stiff for my feet even with wide fit. I have several brand new Supadance shoes from UK size 4 to 5. If anybody is interested, PM me.

Those look like the ones I used to have. At one point, I loved them. I wore that style for a good two or three years. A couple of years later I found I had an unworn pair of them in perfect condition, so I started wearing them and they made my feet and legs hurt like crazy. After a few wearings I realized it was because my feet felt like they were fighting the shoes because they were so stiff. My feet were cramping up. I switched to a totally different and softer pair of shoes (between rounds at a comp -- bought the new shoes right then and there because I couldn't take it any more), and the cramping went away.

You might say it was because I needed to "break the shoes in" but I had never felt like I needed to do that with this brand and style before.

So, how a pair of shoes feels is a very individualized thing. And "stiff" or "soft" is also a relative thing that I think depends on what you are used to, how strong your feet are, and so on. Bottom line is I think that you're just going to have to try them. I found them to be very durable shoes and when I liked them I very much liked them.

Iguess I may just go ahead abd buy one pair. Good thing is, they are inexpensive, of course relatively speaking.

Very nice new avatar, dancebug, I'm always a fan of this sort of cutted out dance silhousettte shots, did you use photoshop? You got to teach me how to do this:)

Thanks for laura and dancebug sharing info about Diamante shoes, I like the look, but never tried them, only remembered supadance makes them and on supa brochure, Katusha wore them, and that Diamante pair looked stunning on her feet. Not sure how supa ones compared to Werner Kern. guess the extra diamonte piece makes the shoes not as soft as those without?

Dancebug, Werne Kern Diamante shoes aren't expensive? I thought Diamante ones should be more expensive than those without, right? extra piece of decorations.

There's a spelling and name confusion thing going on here.

Diamant (no 'e') is a German brand of dance shoes, and I wore the ones pictured further back on this thread.

Diamante is a synonym for "rhinestone."

I'm guessing, because of the picture, that the poster is taking about the brand Diamant shoes, not shoes decorated with diamantes.

As usual, Laura is absolutely right. I meant the brand Diamant. I apologize for the confusion.

standarddancer,
Yes, I used Photoshop. Let me know when you want to learn how to create an avatar like mine.:)
