In my mind, tapas is associated with/linked to salsa.
Are there any foods or drinks that you associate with specific dances? Why?
In a very cliched way, I associate "tea" with the ballroom/latin dances as a few years ago I went to a British tea dance, with the thinly sliced cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon sandwiches etc and a selection of cakes, with different types of tea or even coffee, to choose from. There was a band and we were doing the various dances.
It was a great afternoon, but the "problem" is  on the one hand you have tea as calming but tango as the associated dance  :nope:

Well, one Ballroom venue I go to always has lemonade and cookies out for everyone...so I usually associate that with Ballroom. Just a few goodies to keep everyone's energy up! :)

Food? They serve food?
For the most part "they" serve various cookies and desserts, soft drinks, sliced vegetables, and water. However, I'm usually dancing, and you can't have food or water or whatever on the floor.
Now one of my cohorts likes to go to the nearby burrito place after dances... (I think they're open from 7pm to 7am daily).

My studio has a soda fountain and coffee. There is usually a cake every month for those who's birthdays are on that month.
Pot luck dinners are done every so often. 8)
There is always a dessert pot luck at the USABDA dances here; if you bring one it is worth three dollars off the admission. 8)

For salsa parties, it's the Havana Club 8 year rum.
And lots of bottled water-

Pisco sours!!!! No, just kidding! One of those and forget about doing any spins! Save the Pisco for the parties AT HOME! I drink beer or dry white wine at my salsa parties, but during the course of the evening also consume close to 2 liters of water or sports drink. Too busy dancing to eat! (We don't offer cater our parties anyhow!) As for sustenance, I find myself getting dizzy after dancing hard for 5 hours or so and I have found a peanut butter sandwich eaten right before the party will gives me adequate energy to dacne the whole night!

That's good stuff, but for a fairly inexpensive but smooth rum try
Ron Matusalem Cuban rum 8)
Or Brugal Dominican Rum
- It's good stuff!
