I have a female friend, an instructor of mine actually, who needs practice shoes. She wants support but flexibility. Everything I see has a solid shank in the arch and she is concerned about having enough flexibility. At the same time she needs more support because she has foot issues. Kind of a "Catch 22".
What are you ladies who teach and/or dance a lot using as practice shoes? I'm not talking competition style shoes that have been demoted to practice, but actually practice shoes with cuban style heels. I would rather steer her in the right direction than sell her something she won't be happy with.
Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks. The 1025, are they flexible?
I have a few 1026 (not in her size) but the shank and sole is very stiff. Will they sofetn up for her?
The other question; has anyone any experience with the International Heathers?

Yes I am looking at those (1026) and I think she may like those. She didn't the other heel style which are like the Freed Roma.

I have used the Supadance practice shoes with the lower heel and liked them. Now I have the Ray Rose practice shoes (Breeze). Just like their latin heels that I love for the combo of support and flexibility, these offer both as well.

The Breeze looks very flexible?? I saw them on someone's web site just now.
They may be available locally too.

Super flexible - can point easier in them than any latin heels I've ever worn...sort of like a split sole construction. Ordered mine from Patterson's...that's up your way, right?

Thanks everyone... I really like the design of the Ray Rose! They look comfortable. The Supadance 1826 is like a boot-type shoe, a style that I have never tried. Maybe I will try the Breeze.

I have International Heather Classic with 2 1/2 inch heels and I love them. I haven't seen them on any US-based websites, I got mine from dancesport UK website.

Do you mean 1-1/2" Heels? I know the Heather style. The ones I know of have 1-1/2" Cuban heels but are the Classics different?

No, I mean 2 1/2. It's the second shoe on this page: dancesport.uk.com/shoes/inter/lad_pra.htm
I did not want a lower heel because I compete with 2 1/2 heels so I wanted to have same heel height on my lessons, and satin courts wear out too quickly, so it is not as efficient to downgrade them from competition to practice anymore.

Thank you. I didn't even know they made that shoe. Good to know.

You're welcome. I don't think this model is available from any of US websites. I ordered mine from UK.
Does anyone wear L111 Lorna Lee by Ray Rose? They look more attractive than many practice shoes and I'm thinking of trying them.

We have just recently added the Lorna Lee in our store. We really like it and I think it is going to be a great addition to Ray Rose's practice shoe line. BTW, the Breeze is awesome! We sell a lot of them. Another good practice shoe that is very flexible and comfortable is the Capezio Broadway Flex. It is a lower price than the Breeze so if you are looking for a shoe that won't break the bank I suggest trying it. I have flat feet and all kinds of other foot issues and this is the only shoe without arch support that I can wear.

The 1126 by supadance rescued me from a foot issue I was having a few years ago. They are very flexible- more so than the 1026,1025, and the heather. Its basically the 1026 with a half shank.

I wear the Capezio Broadway Flex for practice and I love them! Most comfortable practice shoes I've ever bought...aside from dance sneakers. Very flexible, but with a bit more support than some other jazz shoes I tried. And they're pretty cute...they look nice with skirts or pants...I wear them in black. I believe Capezio also makes a t-strap character-ish shoe but with a suede sole as well.
