My daughter(10yrs) needs bracelet and necklace for her first ballroom competition. I have no idea what kind and have one day to get it. Getting information from her trainer in time is much complicated. We have shoes and dress, already, that is probably not the most suitable, but is one color, simple, so she will dress it. I don t want to fail in solving the "problem" of jewelry, that she MUST have. THANKS for any idea.

Is this an official competiton and is her partner also under 12? I know you go by the ISDF compatible regulations from earlier. If so, she may not wear any necklaces or bracelets. There are slight variations on this from country to country, the ISDF rules say no jewelry. Here the only jewelry allowed for girls dancing in Juvenile classes or Junior I are small (diameter under 1cm) earrings.

The best thing to do is to read your country's rules about this. I'd offer to help but I don't know where you live and, probably, wouldn't be able to read your language.

Thank you Glasswren, I hoped, you read this. They are the same age. I have read original IDSF regulations, and our country regulations, too. It is the exact translation. As the trainer explained, jewelry on the body - personal, not on the dress, is allowed, so I was asked to put some decoration on daughter s neck and wrist. It is up to me what kind, though I would prefer more precise definition.

Seriously, the judging will not be based on the jewellery. The kind that wouldn't get frowned upon won't even show a few meters away. Don't worry about it too much. :)

If it is important to have something, then something not garish. Something that could be worn every day, except no religious symbols. And nothing that could hurt her or anyone else or break.

It'd really be unpleasant to be asked to remove them, wouldn't it?

I admit that I am still curious as to where you live, but I will not ask. :)

"Personal jewelry" is just that -- something that would belong to the person and that they would wear on their own, not something that is part of a decorated costume. For instance, a gold chain bracelet is personal jewelry, but a bracelet made up of the same fabric, lace and rhinestones that were used to decorate the dance dress is not.

I would just go to a store like Accessorize that sells "fun" jewelry and buy her some things that she likes and look nice with her costume without being too over-the-top.

Thank you for the props, Angel. :)

Lighta it sounds like you have very little time to find anything. I suggest at this moment you find a boutique where you can find relatively inexpensive rhinestone jewerly, and buy there. I think the best things to pick up would be anything with white rhinestones on a silver metal. This way, you can use it again, as it would match many things. It would be a last minute purchase, but not a wasteful one, as you could use it again in the future.

Good luck and let us know how she does!

Thank you all for your interest. I didn t have time to visit this site after Me wrote, but I finally did what you wrote. What a great match:)! I wanted something in the dress color, but in 5 shops that I visited, did not have it, so I bought 2 pieces set - combination of white rhinestones in "silver" and white pearls imitation, Simple and nice. And she can use it also in the future
Kids danced the best they could, even better.:D

Great to hear! I hope everyone had fun too. :)

I admit being envious, but not giving up hope. Some day we will find a suitable boy.
