Two questions: :D
First, is anyone else planning on attending the Oakland Swing Dance Festival this May? I went last year, and had a wonderful time! I just registered for this year's event, and I'm already counting down the days!
Also, I'm thinking about signing up for Swing Camp Catalina in June. Has anyone done this event before? Is it worth the $$$? I'd love to get some opinions before I register.
Thanks for your help!

I've never been to Swing Camp Catalina, but from all reports I've ever heard, it's a lot of fun and a good workshop. D Nice should know a lot more about it.

Also, I'm thinking about signing up for Swing Camp Catalina in June. Has anyone done this event before? Is it worth the $$$? I'd love to get some opinions before I register.Catalina was my first camp, last year. I won't be going back. The big draw for me is Steven/Virginie and I will be seeing them in Oakland, and just danced with Steven last week at the dances before Balboa Rendezvous in San Diego. (Side note: the invisible force field that prevented me from approaching Steven Mitchell and asking him to dance last year IS GONE. Wow. This is huge.)
My reasons for not returning to Catalina: Balboa Balboa Balboa and blues. I'm putting my time and $$ into two Balboa camps this year, and St Louis Blues Fusion weekend next week. And Oakland. One can only do so much. I am seriously thinking about Camp H'wood again, though, if I can do it. Not quite as expensive as Catalina, great dancing, good bands, awesome comps. My two cents.
Thanks for your help!Any time.

Thanks for telling me about Camp Hollywood. I hadn't heard about it before, but after checking it out, I may do that instead of Catalina, especially if the price is right. Or maybe I'll just go all out and do both camps :?: :?: Don't I wish... :D

Thanks for the input, Suek!
When I posted my comment I wasn't aware of anyone else that had attended. I couldn't even say for sure that D Nice has been there. I only assumed that based on his association with Erin & Tami Stevens.

Regarding Swing Camp Catalina: I've been there. It is a good camp for beginners and novice lindy hoppers. It is way overpriced for the amount of classes and general dance level for the experienced lindy hopper.

Which camp are you referring to: Oakland, Catalina, or Hollywood?
